A simple restraining order on livestock would have sufficed

No conspiracy, it's true that just because you're signed up for VADA, does not mean they test you. It just means 24/7 they can show up at any time to test you.

Right.. You seem to be suggesting Canelo wasn't tested, or am I mistaking?

Yes it's a total conundrum why this multi millionaire native of Mexico (a nation who's beef is widely known to be chewing the good stuff!) who employs dieticians, nutritionists & chefs & whose occupation requires stringent, organised & regimented food intake would consume the bovine equivalent of Mr Olympia! Being a Mexican, from Mexico, speaking the lingo n all that, u know, he must not have known.. That & the fact that he had a neck like Tyson & track marks more prominent than Kalle Sauerlands Friday night escort! I mean its a total stitch up... Oscar says so.

All I'm getting at is, just because he was on Vada doesn't automatically mean he was clean for the first fight. Just being signed up to Vada 24/7 doesn't mean he "was" tested, just that they could randomly test him whenever.

This is exactly what I think. If that's the case it's an interesting move that could make or break that fight for Canelo. Golovkin is a very, very strong guy and if he does get bullied in there it isn't a good look to a judge or even a ref that may look to step in early.

On the flip side, fast counters (and more of them) DO look good to a judge, even if they aren't wobbling the other fighter.

And on the third side, it does add fuel to the whole drug failure thing. Fail a test and then suddenly become less bulky, it adds suspicion. Doesn't make him any more guilty though, of course.

Teddy Atlas been in and around the sport for fourty years said he thinks it’s PEDs as the smaller man was actually the bigger man last time.

    Nice post Paddy.

I agree, it will be very interesting to see how this move plays out. On one hand, it could help his stamina and workrate, both which will help him win rounds, on the other hand, it could mean he gets bullied a bit more, which perhaps means he loses more rounds. Or, maybe it wont do anything and we will see exactly the same fight play out as before

It definitely adds fuel to the PED discussion. Anyone wanting to deny that is just cheerleading, imo. But I think many people, myself included, said that he had too much muscle and was too big in the first fight, and that his workrate and stamina were big reasons he came up short in the first fight. Im sure him and his team know that as well.... and if so, it makes sense that they would come in trimmer and with those weak spots being the focus this time.
