Just this morning I read: "I was offered to fight this other Russian on the [September 22] Joshua card and it was a good fight for good money but I decided against it because there was a fair chance I would have lost. It was a winnable fight, 50-50 in my eyes, but at this moment in time I need to be taking fights that are slightly more in my favour, so I can build a bit of momentum again. I need to put a few wins together instead of win one, lose one, win a couple and then jump in again. I need to find my form and build my momentum so when these fights do come I’ll be ready with both hands – so that’s why I made that decision." But ok then.
Must have offered more money he couldn't refuse, or convinced him he's probably never gonna get the to that phase of his career again, at least with Matchroom. Price until he retires is solidly in the good name to build a prospects resume up with category. To long in the game to fix things and make a real run at a title now imo.
If Price can be in the same physical and mental condition he was last time around, he can beat Kuzmin.
Price was supposed to fight Sean turner on 5th October but he pulled out injured. Hearn has probably upped his offer and Price has taken it to avoid a wasted training camp. Regardless any fight where Pricey steps up in levels normally results in unmissable car crash tv at its finest!!
Hearn is such a goddamn traitor snake it's insane. Rabid exploitation of Allen and Price for ticket sale spectacle is palpable by now. Hearn would never match-make pet investments even close the the way he's rolled those two men of his own kindred. How does he even have a promoter's licence after putting Allen in with Ortiz? Then he offers Price Povetkin after Dave beats a journeyman in a 6 rounder. 'I was just giving my lads big opportunities, gov'na'.
He was just under 260 when he turned pro and has weighed a few pounds higher than that a couple of times. However, he was a career low 241¾lbs against Mansour, then he came in at 247¾ for his last fight against Karpency, but he definitely looks even less there than what he was against Mansour. Here he is in the WSB looking like a big fat tubby This content is protected And here he is against Mansour This content is protected He looks about 225-230 in the photo you posted but it might be a bit deceptive.
Haven’t been massively impressed by Kuzmin’s pro career so far but I do think he gets the stoppage. Hope Price pulls it off though, if he shows the kind of form he had against Povetkin he has a serious chance.
I think slow ticket sales and worries about the PPV may have loosened Eddie's purse strings to try and beef up the undercard.
This is a cracking fight. Could go either way. I'm going for Pricey for a round 3 k.o . Of course that won't happen but I've got to believe in Tiny head - I've just got to.
