Trout's placement among "The elite" is really based on one win over Cotto. Trout was a damn fine boxer, but never in that class to be honest. But the Canelo fanboys will tell you otherwise....you know, because canelo beat him....

 

Not a guarantee though. Chico was a better boxer, no doubt about it. But gatti has the power and durability to most likely take Chico's best. Not sure it works the other way around.

Though that's not to say this win alone makes Loma's legacy better. Because Floyd has a plethora of other things to more than make up for it including wins over a few HOFers, ATG's, 5 weight class domination for 20 years, being undefeated etc..
