Most famous boxers are from deprived or impoverished backgrounds. Are there any famous names that came from middleclass or well off homes? Barrera is one I can name. Anyone know anything else about boxers backgrounds?
Calzaghe? really? wot was his background like? I thought his dad seems a pretty working class guy. Wot was his job before he was a trainer. Im guessing you've read his book?
Joe Calzaghe was brought up on a council estate, hardly middleclass!! Ricky Hatton likewise, you would think Chris Eubank was a second cousin of Prince Charles listening to him, but those in the know realise that he is just another sad case who took elocution classes to avoid sounding like a 'commoner' I can't really think of any Brit fighters, most of them take up the game because they need to get off the streets, are **** at school and need to find something to earn their crust. *This isn't meant to pigeonhole anyone, BTW*
It depends on your definition of working/middle/upper class. Working class, for me, are generally husband, wife and few (between 1 and 5) kids at state school - dad works full time for say 10 quid an hour, mum part time 20hrs p/w for say £6 Middle class are generally husband, wife and couple of kids (less than three), perhaps at private school (certainly from 11-17), daddy is an exec on at least 50/60k p/a, whilst mummy is either a school teacher (40k) or a lady of leisure, probably shagging all day while the hubby is earning.
Well I tend to oscillate between both..... i.e. earning 10 quid an hour and shagging birds with a rich husband!
Shagging all day while hubby is earning . LOL I make 60K a year and Im always broke man I guess I must be the workin class. Thank god LOL
It was a mere generalisation, you can earn 600k and still be working class, it depends on your upbringing and personality. you can also get chumps who go to uni for four years and end up working security at toys r us for less than minimum wage - now those are the stupid ****ers. no doubt with a refined accent, but no common sense!
