Braddock actually had a lot of the attributes often considered key to beating Tyson. Solid jab, extremely tough, and a solid punch (underrated due to his hand injuries).

Would it be enough to prevail against this version of Tyson?

How about that version of Buster Douglas?

Both men dominate and stop Braddock (Tyson very early).

I can't see Jimmy surviving Tyson, he'd have to get out of the first 5 rounds

Why? It took Joe Louis 8 rounds to KO him, and Louis got dropped, and suppposedly Braddock was a mess for that one.

In a career where he fought on short notice, and already injured, Louis was the only man to KO him.

Why would the Mike Tyson that lost to Buster Douglas do it so much faster?

    Tyson mauls him.

Braddock was a good enough boxer and durable, but punch for punch Tyson hits harder than anybody he faced except for maybe Baer's Sunday punch. But, Tyson is also more accurate and will in no way be deterred by Braddock's pitty pat stuff. Don't blink.

None of Tyson`s shots that night were harder than Louis`s v Bradock aside from the uppercut that decked Buster, Tyson was half hearted during the whole fight, Louis and Braddock would have taken most of Tyson`s shots that night pretty easily, a lot of Tyson`s power was based on speed and timing and often came via a counter, ''it`s the ones you don`t see'' all that was missing against Buster, his body looked awful and he was tiring badly towards the end.

It would be a pretty competitive fight in my opinion.

Tyson just wasn't there that night.

The Louis who defeated Braddock, or even the version who lost to Schmeling, would have carved that version of Tyson up brutally.

We are talking about a lapse of a much greater order of magnitude here.

Yeah, Joe Louis is a different proposition entirely.

Braddock wasn't pitty patty, he had a solid punch.

Louis may very well have hit harder than Tyson, he's not far off anyway.

Plus remember, we are talking about the Tyson that fought Douglas.

Have you actually seen Tyson in that fight recently?

He was just lazily head hunting until he finally saw the title slipping away.

Nobody is going to be blitzing a guy like Braddock, by fighting like that!

 I just can't see it. Maybe I need to rewatch the fight and refresh my memory.

I feel Braddock would at least last longer than Bruno did vs Tyson.

Have you watched the fight recently?

I have and I don't see Braddock avoiding or neutralizing Tyson's rushes like Douglas did. Doesn't have Douglas' size, speed, jab, footwork, or skills. He'd get mauled, quickly.
