With his style and attributes, Braddock would need a chin like an anvil because that would be his only hope at winning.

To be fair, Bob Foster would be in no danger of anyone mistaking him for Mr. Universe and he hit like a runaway freight train.

Before Tyson lost his focus, he was arguably two years of focus away from being the GOAT.

When Tyson lost his focus, he became progressively more beatable.

Losing to Douglas is shocking, however much you try to big Douglas up in hindsight.

Douglas was not even seen as a top contender going into the fight, and he accomplished nothing after the fight.

You have to ask whether Tyson was the key factor!

His body was far more vim than Braddocks, he looked better conditioned.

He probably would have. After surviving the initial assault, He was winning rounds until Tyson caught him.

    But Braddock isn't Thomas.
Thomas was an elite skilled HW even if not all time elite, it was his last prime performance, he had Angelo Dundee back in his corner after not having him for berbick.

He also happened .To be a chiseled 220 at 6'3 with legs and a truly great jab, that's not Braddock.

Tyson destroys him. Different level of athlete. A depleted unmotivated Tyson still beats a motivated Braddock... and a motivated Baer... and all the pre-Louis champs.

Braddock wouldn't survive Tyson's early round assault as he is just too undergunned. He's a good boxer but he lacks the bulk and force behind it hat Douglas had. Tyson would still be extremely dangerous early on.

Douglas has 8" of reach on Braddock for starters and a very hard head snapping jab. At 231 he is also hard to move. Braddock would be more consistently in range for Tyson and handled much more easily in close. Tyson would find his favored mid range and bomb him out imo. Braddock was durable but Tyson knocked out loads of good fighters that hadn't been knocked out before.

Tyson still took a lot of beating and still had the power to put Douglas down with a single punch later in the fight. Braddock doesn't have enough to stave off even this version of Tyson.

By his own admission Tyson was fatigued from screwing hordes of Japanese geishas so Braddock has a chance ... a slim one but still a chance. A Tyson one year earlier and you'd better have an ambulance at ringside for Braddock.
