Every big or semi big fight Spike has had this has been his approach, bad mouth the opponent on social media say some pretty messy ****, then after the fight say ah sure it was only build up,its getting a bit old TBH
I bet on the spike ggg double,then last night watched spike versus eubank, think i may have made an error
He was schooled by Eubank who i wouldnt put much higher than Lemieux.

 

I think you shudda bet Lemieux ggg double. But the Eubank fight and this one are totally separate fights ... one has little to do with the other...imo anyway.

Just read the garbage from spike in this Irish boxing article.
Talk about double standards. I Dont think any Irish media outlet has ever got it so wrong.

Lemmie reacts in response to being abused constantly by spike with ONE comment and suddenly HE is the bad guy here? How does that work?

Spike is alienating fans big time with his behavior. Lemmie has no history f this kind of behavior.
Taking a look around on line it's clear who theneutrals are supporting...and who can blame them.

After this I don't think spike has the temprement for the big time, so maybe it's just as well Lemmie ices him.

 

Lemieux made weight. Advantage David. True to form Irish boxing continues to give spike a platform for his loutish unsportsmanlike behavior. Quoting Another tirade of cursing and swearing about his opponent. Lemieux is silent but deadly. Few neutrals will have any sympathy for spike if he gets smashed after the way he’s behaved. Looks like his nerves have gone. He hasn’t the temperament for the big occasion. He might freeze and get iced early. Shame he’s ruining such a big occasion by being such a jerk.

 

Not as far removed as you would think,
Spike has and prob always will go in and try bully his opponent but when Eubank was not for bullying and stood and was able to outpunch Spike then there was absolutely no plan B from the cork man,
He just stood mid ring taking shots for the last three rounds,
Lemieux is a much bigger puncher than Eubank i just hope Spike has a different game plan going in this time,

 

His best plan wuddA been to stay quiet and let Lemieux sleep on him....
At this stage his best plan would be for packie to have plenty of towels in the corner, and keep the aisles free for the stretcher to the ambulance!!!

OK but what about his behavior?

 

I think spike will do it living the life now past year and in shape of career. Heard sparring went great had English super middleweight champion Daryl Williams over and I think Leimieux struggles with weight and on his way down.

There’s a lot of variables in boxing two horse race and I think once spike isn’t caught clean first few rounds he will force late stoppage.

 

Have to agree with you Luke. Think the Canadian is over rated and seen better days. Just hope the occasion doesn't get to Spike

 

Good to get some Input from a pro in the game. Asluke says a lot of variables. But no solid evidence to support Spike victory. Yes lemieux is a very limited slugger. Weve known that for years. He has been coming in overweight and out of shape. This time hemadeweight fine. He has performed at a much higher level tan spike for years ad he is 4 yeRs younger. Remember Curtis Stevens was only 18 months ago. He is probably the second hardest middleweight puncher Ive seen After JJ. He hasn't got a weak l chin, or lacks heart. Even his engine is fairly solid. It's very hard to find something to latch onto here for Spike. Very hard.

Lemieus weaknesses don't match up to spikes strengths.... Like for example speedy slicsters like HNN and BJS.
Spike is tough... But Lemmie is no cup cake himself either. Spike hits hard... Lemmie hits way harder.

As if the challenge wasn't big enough already. ..spike seems to have lost the run of himself and has enraged Lemmie to where David wants to hurt him, badly, and who can blame him after the despicable things Spike has been saying about him.
It's hard to see spike winning the fight..... Or even winning a round before getting stopped IMO. Spike is just too slow and too hitable ....

That said boxing is about levels,the difference in this levels was just way too much,world class versus european class,
No point saying he was caught cold he was hit hard 6 or 7 times before the knockout,
He got paid 350k take nevada taxes and coach/ managers fees plus training expenses etc he should come home with 180k it will buy him a house and good luck to him,
Time to sit at home and look after the tache, im sure he will get a lot of gigs in cork,

Once Spike started sinking to thelevel of resorting to the McGregor type talk it was obvious that deep down Spike himself knew he was whistling past the graveyard.. Even in the few seconds it lasted he'd begun to feel the power. ..Lemmie was already hurting him to the body....

 

I wasnt so much led by emotion it was purely financial, the odds were good
Within 30 seconds i saw the same body language as the last round vs Eubank and knew i would have to go to work next week,
Spike and Pascal have done brilliantly to get to this stage,I hope (a) we dont hear bull**** about spike getting caught cold, this was a Casey/Rigo type of situation (b) he retires knowing he gave it his best shot or (c) he goes for a european title shot which i believe he could win given the right circumstances,
I think we have a lot of fighters that could really land the EBU title, its very big in mainland europe ( as the brits say) and could boost our shows here,
