At 41 years of age, well over a decade past his best, sadly for Scott this is the correct decision. He needs to move on in life from fighting......trust me very easy thing to say.

Dont agree, he was promised his licence back, i dont see why he shouldnt get it.

Yes hes 41 but has not taken much damage if any since 2005.

I think it his medicals ok and he wants to fight, let him.

I agree with him "its bang out of order"

No one wants to see him back fighting nobodies. So he goes in with good level opponents, where he will get hit a lot and take punishment Thats won't be good for Scott, not at his age. I don't doubt a strict training regime will be good for him but what happens after the 8 - 10 week camp and fight. He goes off on one.

Hey if he proves me wrong then great because he was some fighter in his day.

Fair point, at 41 he would be up against it, maybe he could pick up something at domestic level belt wise but does that really pay ?

Or does he want to have a few more fights and build up a bit of money for a business venture or a move into full time training.

I still think he deserves the right to try, after all there are journeymen taking beatings every week and no one blinks an eye.

Yeah nothing wrong in trying, especially when you consider journeymen doing it every other week

Sadly he made a mess of not only his career but also his life. He totally blew the opportunity he was given when he was at the peak of his powers. A complete tool. I don't believe he deserves another chance at 41 years of age

He had his demons yes but he isnt a bad person, he just has a problem with booze as far as i can see.

You not think your being a bit harsh James ?

No I don't think I'm being harsh. Scott was a great fighter and had the world at his feet but he totally blew it by his choice of friends and lifestyle. He had several chances to turn it around and instead he just upped the ante. Many folk tried to tell him that he was throwing it all away. I think if u asked him now how he would describe his behaviour back then he would probably say he was a bawbag. He acted like a complete ned on several occasions in various boozers in and around Glasgow.....hardly the actions u expect from a world class professional boxer. Ask the numerous folk he and his cronies scrapped with/battered if they think he is/was a bad person

Ok i understand your opinion better now, i didnt really know that sort of thing went down with him in glasgow, i thought it was just the incidents in Spain which i assumed was just a scrap after a boozy argument with a few macho Spaniards.

Id still like him to get another chance though, id expect the board to interview him and ask where he sees this going as a career.

History tells us that older guys usually have a better chance of being successful at the higher weights, at 41 he would be expected to only get so far, perhaps thats the driving force behind this.

He should consider Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship he could probably make better money at that than fighting his way up threw journeyman.

Id be interested to know what his old man thinks of his planned return ?

Sad to see Harrison forced to go down the BIBA route [this is really just unlicensed and the standard is terrible] -- he should be given a chance. At 41 he will never be the fighter he was but he could still compete at a level and if his medicals are ok then he should get a chance

In one hand as a massive Scott Harrison fan i think its wrong he isnt getting a license of BBBofC, and i know thry havent treated him right. Then on otherhsnd i dint want to see him fighting at his age, as it wont end well.

41 year old getting a licence? No I don't like it.
Ex world chaMp getting one when he's not gonna be the same, don't like it.
Man being refused his only way of knowing how to make a living? Hate it.
Man been in prison for 4 years and (probably) the only thing keeping his going was the promise of getting is license back on release?
    ****ing hate it.

On a side note I have never met Scott, but I know a boy who trained with his dad and had been out to Scott's place in Spain. He basically said that Scott was a lovely guy who was socially awkward and would invite all these people over and he would sit in the corner, he would be that shy he basically drink to interact with people.

Never had a bad word to say about him just felt sorry for him.
