Once Lemieux destroys Spike, can we stop all this Spike vs Canelo/GGG talk? Or any other top MW?

    I'm sure Spike is a great guy but I don't know why he's been in talks for so many big fights recently. We want to see the best MW duke it out with each other. Not a guy Eubank dismantled with ease.

    Now if Spike beats Lemieux I'll definitely change my tune. He deserves to be in that mix. But I don't see it happening. Lemieux is going to brutalize him.

    Spike beating Lemieux warrants a title chance more than "big" Charlo that's a fact.

    From what I've seen of Spike he's a relatively handy boxer who should not be underestimated. While he is not great he's better than many of the fighters who have played the contender role at middleweight in recent years.

    He's obviously no Saunders in the skills department, but he's got more than enough ability to make it a decent fight with Lemieux tonight. The problem is obviously that David hits like a mule. If Spike can avoid the big punch and take Lemule deep he's got a shot at the decision or maybe even a late surprise stoppage.

    No shot. Unless he's drastically improved since Eubank which I doubt, or if Lemieux is completely discouraged after getting dominated by BJS.

    Never liked him. Don't feel like he is relevant at all. The real question is if he is more relevant than Monroe Jr. right now in MW division.

    Awhile back I would have agreed with this wholeheartedly, but it appears that the secret to beating Lemieux is out: do not allow him to plant his feet. David can't get much leverage on his punches unless he plants. If Spike can utilize movement and throw on the go he can win the fight.

    Spike hits hard and I don't think Lemieux is the most durable fighter. I also think Spike is a bit more skilled than Lemieux. I'm going with the upset here.
