Crazy amount of clinching being allowed by the ref. Finally they break and we take a highway to UPPERCUT CITY. Oh boy, this part's exciting. Then comes another minute of clinching. And then about 15 seconds of nonstop two-way uppercuts!!! And then 45 seconds of clinching. Ugh. Et cetera.

10-9 Yıldırım, barely. Mock staggered a few times but still hanging in there answering Avni punch for punch.

    76-75 Yıldırım

Fascinating that we keep circling back to simpatico cards despite having gotten here by different routes.

Yıldırım is swarming Mock with jabs on the face and uppers on the chest and backing him up with the force of his blows. Mock keeps stomping & jabbing his way inside again, bullwhipping the back of Yıldırım's neck with his right. Yıldırım is blocking Mock's combinations and double jabbing him out of the pocket, worsening the swelling under Mock's right eye. Yıldırım stumbles, ruled not a knockdown but will have to see a replay - but the legs of both men are turning into jelly as they're fatigued beyond reckoning.

10-9 Yıldırım super close (but arguably ought to be 10-8 Mock, that's a big points swing)

Yeah, their feet were entangled and Yıldırım essentially tripped but right before he did Mock clipped his jaw with a left hook. In boxing we do call that a knockdown, by typical precedent.

That was legitimate knockdown for Mock in the end of the round. Why didn't the referee count??

Also: There are two German judges scoring this one for WBC. Avni Yildirim is based in Germany. And those two specific German judges: Langos has been referee or judge in 11 prior Yildirim bouts. Rinaudo has been a judge in 10 prior Yildirim bouts.

    Corruption!

Mock is coming to life now, jabbing with the left and then chopping with the right, giving Yıldırım no time for anything but shelling up. This is when Mock does his best work, just not letting Yıldırım get a figurative word in edgewise. Question is how long he can maintain it. Turns out, most of the round. Whenever they aren't tied up or in the act of being pushed apart by the ref, Mock is unloading and Yıldırım is just concentrating on blocking. All that Yıldırım is landing is rabbit punches in the clinches this round. WILD hook by Yıldırım, countered by a flurry and then uppercut by Mock. Bashing lefts up top by Mock as Yıldırım keeps shelling up tightly.

    10-9 Mock

    95-94 Yıldırım
