I had him winning. I'm sick and tired of people not giving this man his due. Give this man his credit. Canelo is a beast. I've never seen a fighter improve so drastically from Trout, Mayweather, Lara, to now. This kid is an amazing fighter. Saunders will give him issues just off style but no other boxer has a chance. Canelo would still beat Saunders too.
Nope. Let me know when Crawford beats a GGG. If you think Canelo is the same fighter since Mayweather I don't know what to say. He's a different animal now. His improvement rate is scary
I had Jacobs beating GGG. But he didn't do it in the fashion Canelo did it. Canelo walked that man down and beat him at his own game lol. I'm shocked. I couldn't believe that was GGG. I expected Canelo to be more active and counter more.
Think Loma and Crawford were occupying the one and two positions on my p4p list, and the fact that this decision isn't universally accepted isn't enough for Canelo to displace them, imo.
He somewhat avenged it by beating Lara, but it was a razor close fight. I'd move him to number one if he beat an elite boxer-mover (Sanders-Andrade winner).
I would like to see Canelo vs other top tier middleweights like Jacobs and Saunders. I'm not convinced he'd beat them. I had him winning this fight and losing the first one. He matches up well with GGG. If he beats those two guys, Canelo would leave no doubt that he's the best P4P since Floyd. Still, yeah I think he's P4P #1. This win kills anything else anyone has done and the rest of his resume is good. I think Canelo is a little undersized at 160. I'm not sure how much he re-hydrated to today but I'm talking about height and reach too.
Fair enough. Canelo might struggle more with those fighters than he did vs GGG tonight, but the fact that he has a better win than any of Crawford or Loma's resume should count for something.
4 years but 4 years is irrelevant in boxing. Boxing is a what have you done for me lately. Also as much as I want to credit Floyd for clowning Canelo 12-0, Canelo is a different animal. That guys improvement rate scares me. His potential is endless. His stamina clearly is an issue still though.
