Canelo is the new p4p #1 if you had him beat GGG.

It was a majority decision, no...? Also, many unofficial observers called the fight a draw or gave GGG the nod. Those are facts.

Canelo is a great strategist, that separates him from the others. Very versatile, can make adjustments mid fight, great speed and power, and his stamina looked good too. I don't have an issue with people putting him at #1 but I didn't have GGG at #1 so I'm not putting him up there. I want to see the Saunders fight to see if he has learned how to deal with slickness after Mayweather.

Fair enough. Like my title says, if you think Canelo won he's p4p #1. If you thought it was a draw or he lost obviously it's not.

I'll meet you half way, 5 years(just checked Boxrec). But I agree with you a current PFP list should only go back a couple of year.

Oh **** you're right lol. Idk why I thought it was in 2014. I really thought it was Sept of 2014. We were both wrong lmao. I'm getting old.

Aye. Didn't have GGG number one after that result, either.

No I thought he lost both fights against GGG and the vast majority felt the same way about the first fight and seemingly that seems to be the case this time too. We'll see in the next day or 2 what the general consensus about who the rightful winner is but as of now it appears most felt Clenelo lost this one too.

Fair enough Serge. I thought Canelo clearly won this one. I might force myself to re-watch it. But right now I'm not in the mood lol. It was a great fight I'm sure a lot of us are emotionally spent since we were emotionally attached to this fight.

Well that was a no-brainer. You can't really move someone up after a draw.

You don't have to move someone up after a win, either, especially if you didn't score it for them. Best Canelo gets in terms of a p4p ranking would be number 3, behind Loma and TC, imo.

It's your opinion and you're entitled to it, no argument here.

I'll force myself to re-watch it and score it again when the mood takes me too, although I don't think it will be for at least a couple of weeks given the mood I'm in now lol

I generally don't look re-watching 12 rounders right away after they happen.

I don’t even know who I had as P4P #1 before this fight but you could definitely make a case for Canelo now with the win over Golovkin. I’d lean Canelo but I wouldn’t argue if someone favored Crawford or Lomachenko.
