Yes. GGG was a truly special talent. Pleasure to watch him. Sure I criticized him a lot but I only criticize those who I want more from. I wanted to see more from GGG and he gave us 3 great competitive fights. Jacobs, Canelo 1/2.
Most definately. Even in defeat he won, the same cannot be said for Canelo who everyone can see for what he is with his drugs scandals, being rewarded two fights due to corruption
Two wins over a p4per Canelo, wins over top contenders Lemieux, Jacobs, and Murray. Ten title defenses. HOFer first draft, low level ATG.
Yes without a doubt. He was the dominant middleweight of his era, would of been more obvious had he gotten the opportunities denied him during most of his career. Yes is era wasn't particularly great but for his length of title reign and dominance it's an easy pick for the HOF.
Above Canelo without doubt. GGG, who's 36, hasn't had a close fight bar Jacobs. Lara/Trout/GGG/Floyd have all grounds to argue they beat Canelo.
Fights can be argued all the time but what really counts is the official record. And as it stand right now Canelo has one win and a draw over GGG, a two div champ, wins over better ranked fighters and just stopped GGG from breaking B-Hops record. It's safe to say Canelo's legacy tops GGG as of now.
You know the way boxing works is that 'official' is still just an 'opinion' too right? A judge's scorecard is no more right or wrong than mine......
History will be very kind to him. In twenty years time there’ll be some new MW champ and people will be asking how he would fair v Golovkin and everyone will say Golovkin KO2 because that mw champ is an unproven bum with a possible China chin.
