The fight was a great fight I think most people’s issue is the fact is you can see the writing on the wall in this match- I threw out house party tonight and of the six guest they all said - if it’s close Canelo’s going to get the decision. Boom- decision comes and everyone said Canelo is going to get the call. That burns a lot of people. On merit it was a fantastic fight and Canelo fought his heart out - but when one guy only has to keep the fight close and the other guy - who already was denied a win in the first fight (this fight was better and closer ) has to improve on that first fight performance it really does become a stacked deck.
Had Triple G received the decision in the first fight and either lost or received the draw tonight I could of lived with it but the fact everyone I was with called exactly what would happen - it’s a problem.

Great fight though I mean forget the decision - that’s what people pay to see

All he had to do is knock Canelo down as he and his trainer said if Canelo stood in front of him. Canelo did that for 12 rounds. Opportunity missed.

Everybody knows Whitaker beat Chavez senior, here everybody knows Golovkin beat Canelo TWICE, and old faded Golovkin.

GGG can't get a decision against the cash cow of boxing. But they should have already known that. So it's on them.

They are always going to be close fights, until GGG deterioates further. I don't see him getting a 'comfortable' win over Alvarez at this point.

Gennady did a couple thing wrong in this fight:

    1. He allowed Canelo to fight almost the entire fight in and around the center of the ring. He didn't impose his will on Alvarez, didn't make him feel uncomfortable at any point in the fight and never had him pressed on the ropes or turnbuckles at any period of the 12 rounder.

    2. He rarely went to the body which is shocking that he's done this now in consecutive fights. His body work, especially early on, is his bread and butter and helps soften his opposition a bit before he goes for the kill.

    3. The third, and arguably most fatal error on his part, is he allowed Canelo to be the aggressor (especially early on.) I can't remember a bout where I saw Gennady fighting off his backfoot so much or be in perpetual movement as much as he was. He's usually a flat footed fighter with a nice wide stance that allows him to gain a lot of momentum on his shots. I think some of his power was reduced from the fact he wasn't as stationary as he normally is.

I still had him winning 7-5 but once again he gave up too many of the early rounds and had to play catch up. i thought he won the first fight more decisively.

Kudos to Canelo though, he showed superior ring generalship in their rematch and dictated the pace and style for the majority of the contest.

I dont embracing the cheating A side culture of boxing. The wrong person won the fight, A side Divas shouldnt be getting gift decisions in close fights just because of their monetary worth, and this is what happened. At most you could rationalize a draw, but a victory for El Ginger is unlikely. Heck this was to be expected, Canelo is invincible unless you knock him out.
