GGG didnt land a punch all night. Was knocked down in the 5th and 7th rounds. Quit on his stool after the 11th. How does anyone think GGG won?!
I don't think limited is the right term to use. In fact, I'd say he showed his versatility tonight by being able to fight in a completely different manner than he normally does (seek and destroy/come forward,) and still eke out a competitive decision IMO. I had it 7-5 for Golovkin; his effectiveness in the championship rounds sealed the fight for him.
If the correct decision had been made, and GGG given the nod, this performance would go down as a truly ATG performance. When was the last time a puncher outboxed the boxer? GGG showed the opposite tonight. His performance showed the true extent and versatility of his skill set...... Canelo actually fought the way he generally likes to.
Yeah a 36 year old pressure fighter who’s gas tank has clearly decreased went in there with a younger man who’s great counter puncher and yet the 36 year old outlanded the younger man and was slipping shots and showing good movement it’s mad how people think that’s being exposed.
a marginal SD loss is NOT being exposed, fool. SHame on you. You know it could have gone the other way.
Certainly not exposed, but he was damn easy to hit, it was honestly like target practice for Canelo. In a way you can say that his style has been exposed, but he's still better than the rest of the division.
So it took 13 years to expose him? Cool story. Let's ignore the fact the fact that GGG wouldnt have needed a rematch had Canelo not cheated the first time.
