I'm in the tiny minority that had it for Canelo.

    116 - 113 GGG

I am confused by Max Kellerman comments. Actually, I am watching the fight and not the "story of the fight".

It's a very tainted legacy imo and that's without the dodgy mexican beef bs

I though Gennady edged it out 7-5. I think Alvarez could've managed a 7-5 win if he had a bit more in the tank during the championship rounds. He still fought valiantly form 10-12 but I think Gennady was able to impose his will a lot more during those rounds compared to earlier in the fight.

It's hard to complain about a MD win for Canelo when a lot of the rounds were very close.

Decision is fair. Could have been a draw.

Well, about a fourth of the total here has it that way, so a minority but not really tiny.

It was so, so close. Just about all rounds were close. I just don't see how you can cry robbery over a close decision in such a fight. I wouldn't argue if Golovkin had gotten the decision, but when fights are these close they are in effect draws for me.

I did have Canelo by a round or two on my card, though.

Trust crybabies on here to think that GGG won. Give Canelo the credit he deserves, he stalked GGG and landed power punches. He fought a great fight, congratulations to the deserving champ.

I scored it for Golovkin by 4 points. The punch stats had Golovkin outlanding Alvarez in 9 rounds. This is the fourth or fifth time that Alvarez gets a gift decision. It's due to what Floyd Mayweather calls "Golden Boy judges". (See his post-fight interview on the night of his win against De La Hoya.)

Yeah, but Golovkin fought a great fight too. He showed himself to be more versatile than I had thought. He showed good defense and some clever punching and counters. He has never looked as multi dimensional before.

Just because G didn’t fight his usual style doesn’t mean he lost. Canelo did well first half of the fight but I still had it even. G took over the last 4-5 rounds. Canelo didn’t win that fight. But it came as no surprise when the fight ended that he did.

I scored it a draw. It was closer than the first fight which was a close, but clear Golovkin win.

I disagree, GGG got his second wind when Canelo got tired. As soon as Canelo went back to being aggressive with energy he found GGG easily. GGG has always been an underrated boxer because of his power, but he only looked good in this one when Canelo took his foot off the gas. I guess it’s always hard to say what caused what and what came first.
