I would say yes. He is a great boxer who applies intelligent pressure, great boxing iq, and a pretty good resume (yes I think he beat Canelo twice) I see him going to 168 and solidifying his status even more.

For a while in this forum people were making it seem like he'd beat Hagler in a one off match. I remember those days vividly, it wasn't too long ago.

I never thought he could beat a prime Hagler- say 1979-1982. That version of him was a psychopath and his will to win was unlike anything I ever saw.

SO what is an ATG MW? Someone ranked in the top 10 all time in the division? Is he definitively a top 10 fighter ever? There's been plenty of great MW fighters who fought (and beat) much better competition than Golovkin did. Guys like James Toney, Roy Jones Jr, Bernard Hopkins, Stanley Ketchel. Lamotta, Mickey Walker and Dick Tiger were great fighters at MW as well. Cerdan had a ridiculous record in his own right before he died prematurely.

let us know what part of 2014 to 2018 as unified champ is 100% proof of ATGness.

Its very good dont get me wrong, but too early to call ATG on a career unfinished. We must wait for 3G to climb his future mountain of greatness.

I tinhk i am being perfectly fair. I would say this about anyone with 3 years at the top. It would be very poor show of you to take a fair comment personally.

Authentic greats do better in rematches to close fights. That was Canelo in this case..

GGG is an ATG of this era , but not a top 10 all timer at MW.

It's so subjective, I didn't even make mention of the great Charley Burley, Randy Turpin and all around tough guys like Carmen Basilio and Gene Fullmer. Even the great Sam Langford campaigned a good portion of his career at the weight.

Many consider Robinson to be the top dog at 160 lbs, but I think a stronger case could be made for Greb. he arguably didn't have the talent or skillset that Robsinson did (no knock on him since no one really did) but Harry did take on literally everyone from 157 to about 175 lbs. He's also one of the few guys you could make a case for being the best P4P fighter ever. all you have to do is glance at that ridiculous resume of his and remember he fought blind in one eye for nearly half his career.

If Gennady was 27 or 28, than I think he'd have a helluva chance to skyrocket up the ATG rankings. He turned pro way too late.

this is boxing not a cancer forum, I will not talk about cancer here and you shouldnt joke about stuff like that, you will get banned. its tasteless pal. I know you are upset about 3Gs loss as much as I am but it dont give you a pass to talk or joke about cancer on a boxing forum. Be noble.
