Both fighters alluded to a 3rd fight afterwards and negotiations will take place. Is there anyone who doesn't want to see it? My only issues are that with each fight, Canelo moves further into his prime and GGG gets older. That's why goldenboy delayed the fight. They knew this scenario would play out. We should've been done with Canelo/GGG a couple of years ago. Also, I don't think GGG will ever get the cards against Canelo. In my eyes he's won twice and not been given the cards. Why would a 3rd fight be different? If it happens, I hope it happens next as GGG is 36. But don't be surprised if golden boy delay the fight yet again. I liked Canelo when he was younger but in recent years, I don't like him as he appears to me to be the most privileged fighter I can remember. That's at least three lucky decisions in his career.
At this point, GGG just has to say, if I were not a boxer I would not be able to make anything close to what I have and will make fighting Alvarez. Screw the judges, I'll give it my best shot and I will walk away a wealthy man either way.
Why not have it in a neutral venue ? Choose either 1)It has to be Vegas because DLH's judge pals like it there 2)It has to be Vegas because they don't let gingers fight anywhere else 3)It has to be Vegas just because
I'd want to see a 3rd fight. No matter what you think of the result it was a damn good fight, loads of action, brutal at times as well, both looked really beat up in the end. But if GGG is smart he should move up to super middle and reek havoc in that division. But the money on offer for a 3rd fight is likely to see him stay at 160lbs. Can't see him ever win a close decision though as Canelo is good enough to compete evenly with him and is durable enough to not be KO'ed.
I never thought he should have taken the rematch. Kellerman even said last night in the hour wait that the money guy will always get the nod. Canelo won the first half of the fight last night and GGG won the second half of it. Both fights of have been good, but both have left no doubt that GGG would've won outright 3-4 years ago.
GGG should move on. He made at least 40 millions with both fights (and peobably more). Fight Saunders in the UK or move up to SMW and fight Groves in the UK. At 36 years old he proved he is still a force to be reckoned with and even a prime great fighter 8 years his junior couldn't snatch a clear victory against him. Anyone claiming GGG was exposed dksab. He could also retire tomorrow and sail into the sunset with the money he's made, but I'd really like to see him at SMW for one fight.
