"GGG was exposed as a limited fighter" Well i am betting the majority of boxing professionals wish they were that limited.
This is the frustrating thing about boxing. What has more merrit inside the ring, jabs or power shots. Who do you give the round to? The guy that lands 10 jabs or the guy that lands 3 power shots? It's very subjective. Personally, I am not dissapointed with the decision and don't see it as a robbery.
If not your hate toward fighters of certain demographic , you’d be one of the best posters here lol. I agree 100% with what you said above
Golovkin also landed power punches, and more total punches including headshots. The whole point of boxing is to outhit your opponent, thats the whole point of the sweet science.
Limited in the context of ggg behind hyped as an ATG. He doesn't have that type of skillset. The OP is absolutely correct.
Man, gg was never limited. What the hell are we talking about. Limited were his fans. The problem gg has always had was his fans, that sold him like the very Thor, the vinking god on earth. And he's not. I loved gg until he became famous and started building that horrible fanbase. It was then when I started not to like him. That and the fact that he should have stepped up faster. But man, limited fighter golovkin? nah.
I'm basically saying the same thing but treating their fanboys with respect to actually debate something nuanced is too much. They absolutely aren't reasonable to fighters they dislike, even disrespecting the sweet science of boxing when doing so. ggg accepted the hype and never checked his fanboys (hell even AJ has tried to do that) so he's responsible for this as well, not just the fans.
I don't know, I cant blame gg for his fans selling him as better than mayweather, tbe, and all they said. I loved gg when he was fighting in germany, I had so many hopes of him being one of the best fighters in the world. But man, I couldnt handle his fanbase and left the boat. You were right with your comment, though, we are saying the same thing, but you were more respecful than me.
I replied to the thread title, nowhere was ATG mentioned. However as you raise ATG issue, i am asking what is meant by ATG? What criteria makes a ATG, and what skillset does GGG lack to be considered a ATG.?
The hypocrisy is thick. GGG did the same thing that Canelo did in the last fight and people called Canelo a master boxer and GGG a limited come forward one dimensional slugger. This time they traded places and the same people are still calling GGG limited. Conclusion, these people are all biased idiots. GGG fought off the back foot as well as Canelo, and he fought off the front foot better than Canelo. GGG is a more rounded fighter than Canelo.
I was explaining the context behind the original poster's comment, which was something not said but strongly implied but clearly it went over your head. ggg is the one being hyped and he was severely overhyped. That's the beginning and end of it. ggg lacks a good backfoot game, somebody as hyped as him should have worked on that. Was struggling to set up his punches off a jab too. Lacking in defense and head movement, taking too many power shots. Lacking advanced ring IQ about what he needed to do to win on judges scorecards thinking he'd get the benefit of the doubt like he had against Jacobs. ggg can only blame himself.
You still don't get it. You're too butthurt about ggg being called limited. An ATG would do the things I said ggg did wrong, in the right way.
