Golovkin never, EVER used "mexican style" against an elite fighter

    For the record, i think golovkin won. But the bottom line is he NEVER actually used "mexican" style. If hes fighting some bum or a guy smaller and weaker like willie monroe he'll take 1 to give 1. What happened when he stepped up in class? All of a sudden hes a master class boxer who utilizes the jab and uses his brain.

    Roy Jones was absolutely correct in calling out Golovkins hypocrisy. He whined about Canelo "running" then when Canelo actually stands in front of him to duke it out, he decides to use his jab, pivot, counter, etc. Where was all the balls to the wall crazy big drama show? Same thing happened in the david lemieux fight.

    Dont get me wrong, i appreciate the sweet science, but this is nothing more than false advertising. He got what he asked for then froze. And his fans buy into it, making ridiculous claims like "no middleweight in history could survive trading punches with golovkin" lol! I guess canelo has the greatest chin of all time then? People want to have their cake and it eat it too, they see what they want to see. They want him to be a big bad wolf brawler but a master class boxer at the same time somehow.

    Dude got old overnight after he's shown signs of slipping for awhile. Imagine if that were a 36 year old Drugnelo in there?!?!?!

    I know what Canelo accomplished by 28, what were Golovkins accolades by the same?

    What's your point? My point is that Drugnelo fought a guy who was 36. And lost. Twice.

    Someone is trying to make a comparison, the only way to see a plausible outcome is by using all available information at hand .
    Or are you assuming what Golovkin might have been able to accomplish by 28?

    When it comes to this particular thread I'll say this. If Mexican style means highly aggressive pressure boxing then yes he didn't fight that way.

    It how many 36 year old fighters have been like that?

    Nobody that old can just keep on coming and coming and coming.

    I didn't follow too closely on all the smack talk going back and forth, but did GGG himself actually say that Canelo ran? From what I saw, it was mostly Abel who was doing the talking. Who by the way, was very mature in accepting defeat. It seems to me that Abel was writing checks that GGG couldn't cash.

    Margarito is the definition of what the casual fan thinks is Mexican style. Iron chin, come forward, endless stamina pressure fighter. Look how he ended up, though. Don't get me wrong, I thought he would win the Cotto fight had it not been stopped, but you're not going to have a long career fighting like that.
