Jabs require a lot less energy than power punches.

Also, Canelo seemed to throw his punches with more intention, using more energy.

Canelo was also pushing the bigger fighter back.

i thought ggg edged the first one, this one was much easier to call for me. i actually thought ggg was in danger of being stopped at one point. if they fight in may, canelo ko's him.
i plan on watching it again, cause the number who think ggg won just really makes no sense with what i saw, so im allowing for the possibility that i may have missed some things. if i watch it again and see the same thing, then theres more than boxing going on here.

I scored the fight 114-114 draw, and wont argue with the result, but if you think there is anyway GGG was going to win on an Oscar/Goldenboy promotion against their Mexican superstar on Mexico independance day, I think it has more to do with most people dont understand how corruption in boxing works . The idea of only 3 easily corruptable judges determining a fight is an outdated one. There needs to be a spectrum of 15 judges per championship fight, 9 scores count, with the 6 outliers eliminated, and either the mean or median of those 9 scores is the fight score.

Again, I wouldn't consider landing an average of 2.6 jabs out working Canelo.

You cant say so and so won because he landes more punches.. Pro boxing is different than Amateur boxing. Number of punches landed doesn't get factored into scoring like in the ams.

You 100% must consider what types of punches were each fighter landing. Whos fight were they fighting in most of the rounds, who demonstrated better defense, and who's aggression was more effective.

I see a lot of new boxing fans clueless of what the rules for scoring are.

I feel that to make a case that a fighter won a fight you have to demonstrate how you saw your fighter prevail over hos opponent in the four categories of judging a fight.

Saying he landed more punches doesn't say the whole story.

    Somethings you can ask are:

What kind of punches did each fighter land?
Who was controlling the fight the majority of the time?
Who who had better a defensive strategy?
Who was better with their agression?

Ask yourself those questions for each round.

Its too easy to say he threw more punches therefore he won. Boxing is more complex than that.

Am sure the boxing judge took all these things into consideration when he decided to rule the Mayweather Floyd fight a draw. He saw the whole fight, saw every round and thought about all the things you mentioned and then decided on merit that the fight was a draw.

Only happens with the drug cheat

You idiots that keep assuming it’s not hard to score close fights.

    That goes for both sides!!!

Mellow out and deal with the truth that even for so called “pros” it is very difficult to score a very close fight.

Why I outta gather up the whole lot of you (clenelo fans and GGG fans) and horsewhip the entire lot of you. At the same time. In the same cage so you would be forced together against your free wills of choice.

You guys would probably become good friends as you dingbats are so freakin alike.

You seem like a very new boxing fan. Your last comment was the giveaway.

Maybe she has a bias? We don't know. What is obvious is that if Golden boy was trying to buy fights he would pay off at least two judges. Its ridiculous to consider that anyone would actually pay only one judge off and expect a win. It's funny how much play that conspiracy gets.

Judges see different things just as everybody else.

But really you had it 125-103 for Canelo with several 11-8 rounds.

Nah Canelo won't KO him but it would be wider. Canelo keeps improving, GGG gets worse.

    You know I’m right.

Most on here all claim they are the only ones that can score a fight accurately as well as claiming those that score a fight differently as a moron. You are included in this group as you are aware.
