Wrong on all counts. You're a Canelo fanboy. Get over yourself. Like you know how to score a fight.

Most of you who would call yourselves hardcore did little to no work and seem to think longevity alone deems you qualified. People seem to think talking **** on a forum, watching loads of fights, listening to dumbasses on podcasts pontificate for hours, and learning their vocabulary from broadcasters makes them hardcore fans. Generally spending a lot of time dealing with something to do with boxing no matter how productive makes them hardcore.

If your knowledge of the game was acquired casually what makes you think your understanding is anything but casual?

Both fan bases need to face it... neither showed to be definitely better than the other.

Neither can yours. If one thing seems agreeable, it is that 117-111 to either fighter in either fight is madly extreme.

It's just opinion. Up to the beholder. You can't state, "no, that opinion's not relevant" to every opinion that differs from yours. I mean, you can. But do you have any idea how that sounds, man? Be better than that.

People defo struggling with the fight and result of Saturday night, as expected.

Golovkin did nothing we heard for years by the vocal majority that he was supposed to do to the GingerBoy (KO in 3, definitely a KO, will totally outbox, is on a completely different level, definitely an early KO in rematch, don't belong in the ring with each other, etc). The dramatic claims on Golovkin's side have been proven to be far less accurate than those on the other. That just is. So there's no sadness from my point of view. Glad we got two great fights from them. I wish there was a stoppage either way so folks could remove their blinders.

I honestly had it 145-112 for the new mw champion of the World Canelo Alvarez! And that's based off of the 15 round rule!

Defense actually doesn't mean anything bc you don't see a category for blocked punches or avoided ones ....the overall percentage of missd and landed punches calculated on compu box is pointless bc they are counting landed shots not who missed what.

Its actual shots that land which determines who wins so whoever lands the more effective punching usually wins in a total punch count.

Jabs are not considered power shots in boxing ,they should only be a major factor in scoring close fights but shouldn't actually determine the winner unless the more jabs landed that the fighter is also scoring more with significant other punches or the other fighter isn't scoring much at all.

It all comes down to the most clean punches landed, everything else is secondary.

If ppl actually just understood that, then they would know what to score and wouldn't need all the other stuff like ring generalship and effective aggression bc the fighter STILL has to actually land punches to win, if a fight is very stagnate in only very rare instances would effective aggression surpass total punches landed.

Ex. Whyte vs Chisora.. Active fight between aggressor and counter fighter

Who actually won? Well Whyte and by a good margin IF you are actually scoring clean punching ( body shots included ) against an aggressive Chisora getting countered and missing a lot of shots.

Parker vs Fury... Non active fight between aggressor and counter back foot fighter.

Who actually won? Fury landed more clean punches but he did nothing but avoid a fight which gave Parker the view of pressing him for 12 rounds and he was the champion. With such a low punch count its hard to give to fury in this instance.

My own criteria for body shots does not include leading hand tap jabs bc that is not real punching that is playing tag, i only include power shots when scoring body punches which usually is the opposite hand or hook shots to the body .

If a fight is even and both have about the same count, the one who landed the more head shots should win as it should rate over body punching.

You do know professional boxing has set scoring criteria?

    Clean punching
    Effective aggression
    Defense
    Ring generalship

What you have described in the above quote is "clean punching."

The vast majority of the global population has GGG winning both the fights. Take a poll on this and i guarantee it.

Didn't know that thanks. My post clearly didn't mention jabbing, body shots or effective aggression either right or explaination of how to rate different punches ?

BTW defense is not actually scored on a actual score card ,they don't score or told to look for who doesn't get hit, they score who is landing the actual punches!

This post is to discuss the rules for judging fights.

As far as your argument for Golovkin winning, you say GGG landed more jabs, and GGG threw more power punches. That's your argument for scoring the fight for GGG?

Sorry to tell you this, but GGG did not throw more power punches, he didn't land more either.
