I'll tell you one thing, Froch at 168 would have marked GGG

A prime Froch slaps GGG around the ring.

Golovkin has ZERO head movement and he comes in straight lines.

From the outside he's going to get lumped by frochs jabs and on the inside Froch is a relentless puncher.

Golovkin doesn't hit hard enough to trouble froch and Froch hits a lot harder than Alvarez who destroyed golovkin face

Froch is also a lot physically stronger and would rag doll golovkin and shove him all over the ring.

I love Froch but not sure who would have won between he and GGG had they fought but I'll tell you one guaranteed result, Pavlik would have copped a murder charge against GGG had they fought. Pavlik would be down for life.

    Agreed.

Froch is bigger, rangier, stronger - and about equal in skill/ ring craft.

But groves himself was pretty good, and he's strong too. He has talent.

Those guys are explosive, fast moving athletic fighters

Golovkin is nothing like either of them.

It's like me saying Danny Jacobs boxed GGGs head off so Froch obviously schools him

I'm starting to think fighters like Groves and Froch are underrated as ****.

    What a depressing thread.

Good job you saved your cash. No one 'broke Froch apart'. Groves - a huge and powerful SMW - put him down heavily in the first and spent the next five rounds trying to break him. And failed.

GGG certainly had the skills to beat Froch. But break him apart? No...

GGG is old. That's the only reason Clenelo was competitive.

I think it's more just GGG is incredibly overrated. Groves would counter GGGs head off.

Don't think he was massively overrated, but I do think his power was. A step up in class at MW, Jacobs onward shows this. Add to that a step up in class and weight and he would be left relying on his (considerable) skills at 168. Froch was a beast at SMW and more often than not fought opponents with better skills. More often than not he found the way to counteract that skill-deficit. It would have been a live fight...
