a lot of good fights this year. Most of the bigger events have delivered but it's kind of hard to pick a clear winner. Probablt one of the more obscure brawls......
Canelo vs GGG was a great fight and high profile Wilder vs Ortiz for momentum shifts Lara vs Hurd was high activity with a great late rally and a knockdown controversially I didnt find the Estrada vs Rung Vi Sai fight that great. Not that it was boring or a bad fight, maybe my bar was set too high but I felt Rung Vi Sai controlled the fight as Esrada fought kind of risk averse until later in the fight and tightened the scores but to me lost fair and square. Call me crazy
Hurd vs Lara *Haven't seen Usyk vs Bredis *Haven't seen Canelo vs GGG II -Agree SSR vs Estrada -Agree Porter vs Garcia *Haven't seen Stevenson vs Jack *Haven't Seen Alvarez vs Kovalev -Not really Warrington vs Selby *Haven't seen *I don't have Showtime, and they are good at keeping their vids off the web. Usyk was HBO but I missed it. I'll add Jose Ramirez vs Antonio Orozco from Friday. One sided but great action, two knockdowns, and blood. Shouldn't be placed above SSR vs Estrada, Canelo vs GGG 2, or Lomachenko vs Linares but it was good for what it was.
Kaikanha vs. Ruenroeng. Horrifyingly violent. Appropriately capped off by a KO of the year contender. This content is protected And its fairly short, so an easy watch
And the nominees are...... Mairis Briedis vs. Oleksandr Usyk Murat Gassiev vs. Yunier Dorticos Srisaket Sor Rungvisai vs. Juan Francisco Estrada Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price Saul Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin II Erislandy Lara vs. Jarrett Hurd Jaime Munguia vs. Liam Smith Nawaphon Kaikanha vs. Amnat Ruenroeng Damien Hooper vs. Renold Quinlan Danny Garcia vs. Shawn Porter Adrien Broner vs. Jessie Vargas Daniel Jacobs vs. Maciej Sulecki Jose Carlos Ramirez vs. Antonio Orozco Alex Saucedo vs. Leonardo Zappavigna Oscar Valdez vs. Scott Quigg Pavel Malikov vs. Daud Yordan Jorge Linares vs. Vasyl Lomachenko Lee Selby vs. Josh Warrington Erick Bone vs. Cameron Kreal Adam Kownacki vs. Charles Martin Adonis Stevenson vs. Badou Jack Devon Alexander vs. Victor Ortiz Devon Alexander vs. Andre Berto Alvin Lagumbay vs. Keita Obara Jessie Magdaleno vs. Isaac Dogboe Raymundo Beltran vs. Jose Pedraza Rey Vargas vs. Azat Hovhannisyan Jose Zepeda vs. Carlos Diaz Ramirez Josh Taylor vs. Viktor Postol Carlos Canizales vs. Reiya Konishi Ryosuke Iwasa vs. TJ Doheny Jason Welborn vs. Tommy Langford I Jason Welborn vs. Tommy Langford II Arsen Goulamirian vs. Ryad Merhy Christopher Diaz vs. Masayuki Ito
You need to narrow that down to like a top ten or it's absolutely meaningless. You just listed half the fights this year. If you don't want to limit yourself to ten, so everyone knows how much you know, you need to rank them best to worst. Listing this many fights for one year isn't informative or a roadmap to the uninformed. Hell, some people might not even want to watch 36 fights in one year. Bad as the goddamn Oscars listing every movie in theaters.
Your Ruenrong pick is what I'm talking about. It's specific enough to catch people's attention, and short enough that they might act on the information without feeling overwhelmed. I just started watching it. So far, you were right. Very violent. The guy is as big as SSR and thinks he can punch so he's starting the fight trying to bully Rungvisai. Not bad. *Oops. My bad, I thought that was Rungvisai. Didn't read the title that said Nawaphon Kaikanha. Guess I'm a racist who can't tell Thai's apart. I was thinking this must be Rungvisai's last match. Now it makes sense that these guys are trading instead of SSR just straight crushing with his power. Just finished it. Pretty good. Entertaining throughout all five rounds. Wasn't even bothered by the Thai commentary. Pleasantly uplifted by the thai crowd, and surprised/delighted that neither man knew what a jab was.
