To add the WBO belt to his WBA belt. The IBF and WBC belong to Mikey and we know that's not happening anytime soon.
Why not? We all know Mikey ain't gonna fight Spence, so, that's the fight that makes the most sense--Mikey vs. Loma.
Actually Farmer is a quality operator. I will be interested in seeing how Tank deals with some one who can move and counter. With that said I want Loma-Tank next year.
Oh believe me, I desperately want to see Loma-Mikey. But Loma is coming off rotator cuff surgery, so a tune up is probably necessary. Secondly, with the bad blood between Mikey and Top Rank, it won't be an easy fight to make. And finally, if they both have 2 belts, it would be a perfect setup to unify the division. Hoping it happens in the spring of '19.
Torn labrum--not a torn SITS muscle. People really don't understand just how complicated the shoulder joint is and there are literally dozens of different injuries it can sustain. People just say "torn rotator cuff" and really have no idea what they are talking about. A torn labrum is not a torn rotator cuff.
Because Pedraza has a world title at the weight Loma is fighting in. Meanwhile Davis is looking to bring up Mares another weight class. I sincerely hope they make the Farmer fight instead of that one for Tank. Tank wins but for at least half the fight I think Farmer ought to at least make him think
It's simply so he he can further unify the title and push for the Garcia fight to be bigger (full unification would make the fight a lot bigger). No guarantee that happens and tbf I'm not arsed about the Pedraza fight, he's a decent enough fighter but can't see it being anything but one-sided. I'd happily watch Loma v Davis however it's fairly obvious that promotional politics will block it from happening.
Labrum, rotator cuff...whatever, I don't care. Either way he's not fighting Mikey immediately after shoulder surgery. That would make zero sense. As I said earlier, adding a second belt and setting up a unification fight is a perfect scenario.
