I'll tell you one thing, Froch at 168 would have marked GGG

Oh absolutely. But look at what happened in the ring. Look at round by round and minute by minute. Don't just look at the end result and go by the numbers.
Groves/Froch/Kessler is bigger. True. Does it mean Golovkin automatically loose?
    Absolutely not!
What does it mean? Golovkin is less likely to KO a bigger foe. This has been proven numerous times throughout history.

Just looking at Groves-Murray you can see Groves stepping in with the lead leg whenever he committed to the jab. This is something Golovkin took full advantage vs Canelo and Lemieux. He easily timed it.
In the later round Murray had great success with his jab and getting Groves backing up to the ropes.

Groves is good, but he always has a thought night regardless of opposition. When was the last time he had it truly easy? (look how though the crude Chudinov made it)
So to say that Golovkin looses due to 8 pounds difference is complete BS.

It's not just size difference, I think Groves is a horrible style match up for GGG.

I don't agree 100% with your post but you're a quality poster so I'm still liking it.

Yes! This is what i wanted to hear! Styles, tactics, technique!
Groves likes to control his opponents with the lead hand. I underestimated that capability and picked Eubank Jr to smash him. Groves schooled just by feinting. The whole Eubank corner was completely lost. Like they had never seen anyone feint before.

I dont care if you agree with me on the outcome of the fight, but don't rely on just the size argument. It's BS.

Taylor did more than well against Froch and I'd argue Jacobs is just as good but with better power and he had Froch backing up in the early rounds, hurt and dropped.

Taylor was well on his way up until the 12th, the same Taylor who Pavlik had already walked through and decisions and never needed a late rounds finish to get the W.

Canelo is built like a little Tonka truck, it's far easier to land on a gangly, leaky defences Froch than it is a very defensively sound, brick shithouse.

Size per se is not enough of itself but if the other guy combines size with superior skills and technique, speed etc then you see what will happen.

I see others have provided you with answers on the smaller guys that troubled GGG. Not sure why you reference CEJ, Cox and Murray.
Lil G is a nickname those who are not fanboys of GGG call him. Jokes aside I think he is a good guy but a bit overrated. Very strong and tough but with limitations at the highest level. Not quite the Superman his fans like to think he is.

If the fight happened after the Groves fights, I would pick Golovkin.

But "prime for prime," yeah, we have yet to see Golovkin fight at 168 so it seems more than fair to think he would not have beaten Froch.

No "lil G" is name certain idiots on here with an axe to grind call him....overrated fighters don't achieve what Golovkin did/have.

I thought you claimed to be a boxing trainer?

And what the fighters have to do with it are that they are all fighters Groves has recently fought that are naturally smaller....so obviously Groves likes to drag more smaller men up....your logic.

Froch beats GGG for me, both guys are easy to hit, one however is naturally a lot bigger and would eat up the smaller guys shots no issue. GGG is a very good fighter, but he's laughably overrated on this site. He's faced two elite opponents and got a questionable decision against one and lost against the other.

Like I said I think he is a good guy with positive attributes as I mentioned earlier though I do believe he has some limitations which have been exposed. I think the problem is some fans of his think he was some sort of super human. Nevertheless he is to be congratulated for an excellent career. I might be wrong but from what I can see he is now on the decline.

As for Groves the guys you say are smaller guys like CEJ and Cox he met in a competition. He has also fought bigger guys and his next fight against Smith is a bigger. He fought Badou Jack who won a world title at Light Heavyweight.

Also there is a point I feel compelled to make. Just because you like a particular guy does not mean you need to hate the others. You can even admire the opponent. It takes special guys to get in the ring. I don’t dislike GGG I dislike Abel Sanchez for the disparaging comments he makes about others. Yes I am a Canelo fan who has seen him fight live. First time I saw him fight live he beat another guy I liked Sugar Shane Mosley.
