If I had a son who was a monster athlete, I certainly wouldn't encourage him to take up boxing. Can you imagine someone with the athleticism and size of Lebron James in a boxing ring. But why risk brain damage, when you can earn millions chucking a ball in a hoop.

Fury is a washed up, un-prepared, mentally unstable bum, ideal for Wilder's resume.

It makes me sad that currently I could knock out every single American heavyweight in the ring.

and he dont have to try and buy his courage with 50 million dollars, or so it appears at the moment. lets see what "unfortunate" incidents derail this one.

LeBron James would quit boxing after 1 fight.
He's one of the biggest floppers in the league and has excellent acting skills.

Not to mention he's a quitter when going gets tough, like in the last two NBA finals, we won't even mention 2011 finals.

Boxing is really not the sport for him.

There's more money involved in being an overweight punchbag in the NFL than there is being a fringe-level guy at heavyweight. If you have the athleticism to be an elite level guy, you probably find your way into other sports too nowadays. This, I believe, is endemic to the US - none of the truly popular sports in Europe, for example, would see big guys have as many options.

Flopping does't mean anything, people in every sport flop if it can gain them a competitive advantage. It doesn't mean a person isn't tough, I see it all the time in rugby league which is a brutal sport.

Nobody in NBA history at the same age has played more minutes, he certainly isn't a quitter, and is known to be one of the most dedicated players in the league in looking after his body.

No one knows, that's the point. All we know is he would be the best athlete in the HW division if he had opted for boxing from an early age. But most great athletes over 6 foot 3 in america, will choose nba over fighting.

Floyd will never fully retire only until no one buys hes fights

He bought a 18 mill watch 23 mill house and gambles like crazy

Floyd is broke looking for anther payday when will this cycle end?

Floyd "Every day, you have to find one [game] that you truly believe in and truly feel you’ve got the ups and that’s the one that you load up on"

    Source or delete.

(thread is being merged into the "General discussion for topics about boxers yet not really about boxing" thread even if you do produce a source, fyi)

Lol. The only positive out of this is that him getting a loss on his record eventually is a reality given that he takes for granted how he can easily come back into boxing. He made $300 million in the fight against McGregor and he still blew it in a years time.

A fighter like Floyd does not deserve to retire undefeated.

To be fair, it's as reliable as CNN or FOX, probably even more.
