I fear Jermall Charlo is wasting his career away

Wtf is going on with his career?! He's 28, in his prime. Undefeated. Is the number 1 contender to the WBC title. He has fought once in 2018, once in 2017, and only twice in 2016. I mean, does Haymon just not care about this dude, or does he not see any potential?

Jacobs skipped the PBC ghost town and now look he's been active and is now fighting for a title again! I expect him to beat Derevyenchenko and soon he will be able to unify with either Canelo or BJS.

Charlo needs to dump Haymon ASAP before he ends up becoming completely irrelevant. At the post fight presser some members of the media asked Bhop when they would fight their WBC mandatory, Jermall Charlo. B-Hop nonchalantly replied "The young buck has to earn his shot with the superstar Canelo" and "he aint fought nobody". The truth of the matter is, Bhop is right. This is prize fighting at its highest level. To fight Canelo means making your biggest payday. Charlo can fight Jacobs for 500k and possibly lose or fight Canelo and easily make 2 million plus.

In boxingspeak, when a promoter says "he has to earn the fight" it means this: we understand that you are a dangerous opponent, therefore, you have to bring something to the table in order for us to risk losing and you taking some of our shine.
To this date, what risks has Charlo taken, other than the J-Rock fight? Yes that was a risk as it was seen as 50-50 fight but hindsight showed us that J-Rock is chinny and cant take a punch. Since then, Jermall hasnt taken any risks. He's 28 years old and been pro long enough. Time to get into the lions den because you aren't a young lion anymore.

GGG is exiting the middleweight division with Canelo as the new king but his reign may not last long as he is undersized amongst a sea of hungry and dangerous contenders. Jacobs, Saunders, Andrade, Derevyenchenko, Murata, Charlo himself, all stand to uproot the barely 5 ft 8 Canelo. Eventually, one of these young hungry men will uproot the somewhat battle worn champion. Will it be Charlo? Only way to find out is if he actually starts making some noise in this redhot division.

Jermall has been too active if anything. He needs to go on a 2 year break like Thurman.
    Haymon is a genius.

He should keep calling out Canelo in the media.
These guys are not promoting themselves enough.

I can never keep these classy guys straight. Is this the galliant gentleman who informed Adrien Broner and Tank Davis, "***** you a *****!" while causing a distraction at his brother's press conference?

I did Google it be sure and when news results came up after searching "Jermall Charlo girlfriend." I thought it was the right one. But on closer inspection you're right. Oh well. Only a matter of time before he does something similar himself though.

Cassius Clay got his shot at The Bear by taunting Liston in the Media.....and following Sonny around in a big bus.
The Canelo v GGG 3 fight series is going to tie up the MW Top Crown for several years....kinda like Ingo/Patterson did from 1959-61, followed by the 2 Liston v Patterson "sparring sessions" in 62-63, with Floyd being the one that got "sparred". Jermall needs to take his case to the General Forum in BF24.c0m.

The Charlos don't want to take any risks, they're all mouth.

Jacobs and Andrade called both of them out straight to their face and they didn't want to know.

It's incredibly disappointing how the PBC fighters careers are playing out. How some people can be fanboys of PBC is beyond comprehension.

He's made some money, has become complacent in my mind, with the unfortunate result being that the fire appears to have gone out of his belly. At 28 he's still in his prime but nonetheless has a very small window of time to start building anything resembling a meaningful legacy before physical decline begins to seriously hinder him. I believe he may still be able to garner some moderate success if he develops a sense of urgency but as far as achieving genuine greatness goes, that boat has probably already set sail at this point in his career and unless he gets some fights lined up, will soon be out of sight.
