Right? As soon as I read this I chuckled out loud (scaring my cat) and said "congrats Fres, you get to carry your WBA ranking into 2019..." (that marks a decade of being a contender, despite being 7-3 in that decade with very uneven distribution having 1½ and now approaching 4½ year activity gaps)

 

Can we just give the belt to Oquendo before he crumbles into dust.

 

Price could step in , beat Oquendo and become the HW Champion of the world.

 

Poor Fres. Was really looking forward to this fight aswell. Now will never know the true wba champion. Give the title shot to Deontay, lol.

 

I’ve browsed Charr’s IG a few times recently he was clearly on anabolic steroids.

 

In Charr's case, maybe he needed it.

 

I'm seriously beginning to feel for Fres. This has been going on for FOUR YEARS.

He wasn't paid for the Chagaev fight or given a contracted rematch and had to sue. He was supposed to fight Lucas Browne for the belt. He was supposed to fight Shannon Briggs for the belt. He was supposed to fight Charr for the belt.

Briggs and Charr tested positive only days before the fights.

He's had four title fights in four years signed and taken from him. On top of that, Fres is caring for Wilfred Benitez and Benitez's sister, who he flew over from Puerto Rico after the Hurricane because they were stuck there.

I don't think he's a top contender. But you don't place four world title contracts under a guy's nose and have him sign them all, train, prepare and then yank the fights and paydays out from under him on a week's notice.

It's a terrible situation, and certainly the boxers who failed their tests and the promoter who didn't pay Fres for the Chagaev fight he did compete in are also at fault, but this is a situation that wouldn't even exist to begin with if the WBA didn't have THREE heavyweight titles of its own.

It's mind numbing.

**** this ABC organisation, just throw the title in the garbage and shut everything off.

 

With the WBA's HW rankings, rife with hasbeens from way back when and never were's, the chances that they're caught on steroids and such is pretty damn big it seems.
Just fix (no, not that meaning of fix like you guys do now) your damn rankings WBA!
