Fury had 2 warm up fights and he looks in good shape, he is not a drug addict anymore and he and his fanboys told everyone he would beat Wilder and Joshua without warm up fights because he is such a magical boxer.

Wilder will get full credit after he knocks his block off.

Fury's fanboys are idiots and nah, everyone can see he's not the same fighter, he looked garbage vs Seferi and just "ok" vs piano

Why is everybody talking about Tyson Fury? That fight hasnt even happened yet. Wilder has walked away from any real challenge put before him to date. Wlad, Joshua, Povetkin and Whyte and to be honest it needed Ortiz to look old and ill and nowhere near what he may have once been for that fight to happen. Give Fury 2 more warm ups and Team Wilder wouldnt want to know.

Wilder has had the worst reign as a title holder that i can think of.

In 7 title defenses with numerous guys to fight in an open wide division he is the worst HW champion in history so much that he NEEDS a Joshua win just to sweep everything under the rug .

If fury defeats him he gets buried for two reasons MOST think fury is not ready ( im not one ) and two he loses in a easier fight then he would have had with Joshua.

The thing is the more irrelevant fights a champion has makes it worse then someone actually losing to the best guy in less or no title defenses.....

Please include some examples of guys who made zero to a couple defenses who had better reigns than Wilder so far?

For example are you saying guys like Charles Martin, Tony Tucker, Greg Page, Bruce Seldon, Frank Bruno, Tony Tubbs, Ernie Terrell, Jimmy Ellis, Joseph Parker, Sultan Ibragimov, John Tate, Mike Weaver, Gerrie Coetzee, Herbie Hide, Michael Dokes, Ken Norton, Bonecrusher Smith, Francesco Damiani, Ray Mercer, Henry Akinwande, Roy Jones Jr., John Ruiz, Corrie Sanders, Sergei Liakhovich, Shannon Briggs, David Haye and Sam Peter were better champions than Wilder?

How can one have a reighn if they don't defend or have a few defenses ?

Please name me one guy at HW with 7 title defenses as weak as wilder...ALL of his opponents in title defenses weren't even ranked in the top 10 WHEN he fought them by the SAME ranking system THIS forum uses which is the transnational rankings......

most of the guys above lost to dominant fighters...who was a dominant fighter that Wilder defeated who beat more then ONE top guy ?

    You said:

"The thing is the more irrelevant fights a champion has makes it worse then someone actually losing to the best guy in less or no title defenses"

Tucker lost to the best guy (Tyson) after three months. Martin lost to the best guy (Joshua) after three months. Hide lost to Bowe. Seldon and Bruno lost to Tyson. Ibragimov lost to Wlad. Peter lost to Vitali. Norton lost to Holmes. Parker lost to Joshua. Ellis lost to Frazier. Terrell lost to Ali. Bonecrusher lost to Tyson. Akinwande lost to Lewis.

    You said it.

Name some champs - with minimal to no successful defenses who lost their titles to the best - who had better reigns than Wilder.

YOU BROUGHT IT UP. Back up what you said.

So Tucker losing to Tyson makes him a worse champion then a 4 year guy cherry picking? lol

Sorry but this is a waste of time bc you are a Wilder fanboy who doesn't want to hear it so you throw the " Who had a better reighn" trick question which if you knew your boxing you would know its very easy to get 7 title defensces IF you plan it out with certain fights.

Wilder lucked out against Ortiz and without that win its not evena conversation is it?

Not much to go into here other then you cannot defend a 7 title defence champion with a resume like wilder....

Jess Willard reigned for 4 years and defended only once (against Frank Moran, a respectable opponent, but nothing special)

All this thread does is remind, and show people how bad Wilder's resume is.

Two very good posts from you. Yes, Wilder has the weakest 4 year reign in hw history. But with the Ortiz win, its no longer completely laughable. A win over Fury would rapidly shoot him up the historical standings, and if he beat AJ too, he'd be very firmly in ATG territory.

And I agree, Floyd Patterson is probably the closest historical analog. Patterson currently deserves a significantly higher ATG ranking though. Jackson, Moore, Johanson were all better wins (for their era) than anyone besides Ortiz in Wilder's era. If Wilder beats Fury though, he'll start to be in the conversation for around Patterson's level.
