    From Spain / UK!

I want Povetkin to win! Why? Because If Povetkin wins, he'd be doing something no past heavyweight has ever done. Beat an opponent with a significant disadvantage in size (in height, weight and reach) + age (where Povetkin is past prime and Joshua is in his absolute prime) + venue (in an uneven playing field where all the stacks are against Povetkin in terms of referee, judges and etc.).

Whereas if Joshua wins, it'd be nothing special or unprecedented, since it'd be an expected victory by the MUCH bigger and the MUCH younger, in-prime boxer. And there are close to hundreds of examples of boxers in Anthony Joshua's position, beating an older and / or smaller opponent like Povetkin that is way past their prime. Whereas there are hardly any examples of a boxer in Povetkin's position (in terms of size + age disadvantages) beating an opponent like Joshua who is significantly bigger in size + younger in prime + a top boxer in the division.

Plus, if Povetkin wins, he would revolutionize the heavyweight division, especially in our understanding of the division. This is in terms of proving that small heavyweights, at the size of Povetkin, can be capable of beating much bigger heavyweights like Joshua, even with a significant age disadvantage too.

Mike Tyson was losing to far inferior heavyweights than Anthony Joshua like Danny Williams and Kevin McBride, when he was the same age as current Povetkin.

Evander Holyfield was also losing to far inferior heavyweights than Anthony Joshua like washed up James Toney and Larry Donald, when he was the same age as current Povetin.

Same is the case with Muhammad Ali and a bunch of other heavyweights.

But the fact that Povetkin is even a credible opponent for Joshua at this point in his career, proves how great of a boxer Povetkin is.

Mike Tyson already proved that 30 years ago.

Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis as well.

Mike Tyson proved he couldn't even beat BUMS by his late 30's. Povetkin has already surpassed that level, by proving he can beat better opponents at that age period than the bums / journeymen that Mike Tyson lost to.

    So no!

But that wasn't my initial point! And you're essentially arguing against something I never even argued about.

My point was to PROVE a SMALLER + OLDER + PAST PRIME heavyweight can beat a BIGGER SIZED + YOUNGER + PRIME heavyweight opponent that is on top of the division to boot.

You're point about Mike Tyson's success at age 18 is TOTALLY irrelevant!

And Mike Tyson NEVER beat anybody at the caliber of Anthony Joshua. You can't find one opponent at the size of Joshua + at the caliber of Joshua that Mike Tyson beat.

And Mike Tyson was functionally as big as Povetkin, if not bigger. Povetkin carries a lot more fat than Tyson.

Povetkin won't revolutionize anything because Mike Tyson beat many super heavy weights and he was smaller than Povetkin.

    1942 - 207lbs Joe Louis ktfo 255 lbs/ 6' 4 Abe Simon.

I want Anthony Joshua to win. And he should win, given he's bigger, stronger, 28 and in his prime ... and Povetkin is 39, smaller and near the end of his career.

But Povetkin's quick left hook will keep me watching until it's over.

    I'm looking forward to it.

As always, I hope it's a great fight.

But not when he was past prime, during his late 30's against opponents a decade younger and in their primes. And none against opponents at the caliber of Joshua.

Joe Louis beat Abe Simons at age 28 = during Joe Louis's prime. And Abe Simons was the same age as Joe Louis. And Abe Simons has 10 losses, and is nowhere close to the caliber of Anthony Joshua.

So none of those examples are comparable to Povetkin beating Joshua.

    So try again!

This time, come with relevant examples!

Povetkin beating Joshua would be unprecedented and revolutionary. A win like that never happened before in the heavyweight division!

Exactly. No need to read any furhter. Mike Tyson faded out at a young. Only a troll like you holds the losses to Williams and McBirde against him

So is Povetkin. But he still isn't losing to clowns like Williams and McBride.
