Can you name a weaker 4 year heavyweight reign than Wilder's?

Well that's the thing isn't it, a lot of people think a lot of somewhat poor belt holders could have held a title for 4 years with Wilders opposition. I actually think even an old Ortiz is pretty good so don't buy into that as wholeheartedly as many others but a case can be made especially up until that defence.

Wouldn't someone like Morrison be expected to whoop the likes of Stiverne, Arreola, Szpilka and Washington? I think they would.

This. I like Dempsey and think he was a great fighter, but he took two huge layoffs while holding the title hostage. At one time he held the title without defending it for three straight years.

Yup, no argument with your last sentence. I was just marking the OP an 'F' for effort...

I agree there are too many Wilder threads on here. If I never see another stupid Dustin Nichols thread it will be too soon and I'm someone who thinks Joshua lights him up early and we never hear from him again if that fight ever actually happens.

Its the other way around, Fury will comfortably outbox him and his only chance is a lucky punch

Against AJ I genuinely believe he has a solid chance, he has more punching power, more speed and is more athletic than AJ and is a lot braver than AJ i.e. he will take risks, do windmilling and the moment he sees AJ hurt, he will not hesitate to get him out of there. And yes AJ has better Stamina and Endurance too.

    Douglas beat tyson.

Who has ortiz beat again? Thats hilarious, you thinking theres some hilarity feeling smug that Ortiz has done more than beating tyson

We don't clash too much anymore Herol. Sometimes I even like your posts. But maybe its time to clash a bit here.
Don't you think the context matters a bit here? After all, I doubt you would say Vitali's wins over Williams (who beat Tyson) or Donald (who beat Holyfield) were all that awesome. And most of the arguments shitting over the Williams and Donald wins can be used to a fairly good extent on the Douglas win, as well.

The eye test suggests Ortiz is at least at the level of Douglas, if not better. He wasn't beaten before, unlike Douglas, and has some solid wins, including one over a fighter (Jennings) who was fairly consensus top 5 at the time of the fight. Ortiz is at least in the same ballpark as a win over (preprime) Buster Douglas. Douglas wasn't a consensus top 5 hw at the time he was beat by Tucker and Ortiz was. I'm actually real high on Tucker, he's one of my biggest "might have beens" in HW history, who I think if things had gone differently for him could have actually been an ATG. But as it was, he doesn't have the resume or legacy of Wilder.

Nope, Fury rolled over, farted, got fat, coked up, and quit so he didnt have to face Klitschko again . Joshua did, and took over.

Wilder wouldn't have one either ( resume or any title defense ) if he ran into Mike Tyson as Tucker did.

You cant punish guys for losing to dominant guys...certainly not an 80's Tyson.

In wilders case the guy cherry picked for 6 title defenses,he is the far worse champion then Tucker who never actually got a chance to pick guys to fight.

I think many are really missing the point here and that's Wilder was hand picking guys on purpose not bc they were seen as a threat but bc they posed very little one.....what champion has done it for 6 straight fights ?

Actually 5 with ONE mandatory fight which made his resume even worse bc it was Stiverne who hadnt fought in 2 years...lol

Wilders reighn ( HIS ) reighn isn't even over yet, whos to say he doesn't fight joe shmoe or whoever still?

Ortiz alone cannot excuse wilder on a Jennings win...I cant see how thats possible.

A fight with Fres Oquendo would certainly seal the deal in this thread topic .lol

Unless and until Fury is beaten inside the ring, Joshua and Wilder's claims will always be dubious.

Wilder will fight Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury this year.

He'll have made eight defenses, one against the lineal champ.

If he stops Fury, he'll likely be the Fighter of the Year.

    He's doing fine.

Whoa! A bit premature here. Let's see if he can actually beat Fury first. He hasn't done that yet.
