Does anybody suspect Alexander Povetkin is durable enough to not get KO'ed by Anthony Joshua?

Does Povetkin have the durability to avoid getting KO'ed against AJ, even if he trades?

Does anybody here suspect that Alexander Povetkin is durable enough to not get KO'ed, or even dropped by Anthony Joshua, even if he fights on the front foot and exchanges / trades punches with Anthony Joshua? Like how Canelo Alvarez did against Gennady Golovkin, without getting KO'ed?

Before the first fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, we couldn't hear / read the end of how Canelo would get destroyed, KO'ed, stopped and would have no chance against Golovkin if he fought on the front foot and traded. But we all found out that no matter how Canelo fought, front foot or back foot, Golovkin simply lacked / didn't at all possess the power required to even drop, never mind KO Canelo Alvarez.

Could the same be the case with Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin? Where majority of the fans are under the impression that Povetkin's style is tailor made for Anthony Joshua, due to Povetkin's come forward style, consisting of exchanging and trading punches, which would leave Povetkin vulnerable to a KO defeat based on Joshua's significant punching power?

Does anybody else believe the opposite is the case? Where Joshua's power is too low / Povetkin's durability is too high for Povetkin to get KO'ed, or even dropped, even if he fights on the front foot and trades with Joshua?

Possibly, if the far less durable Takam, Breazeale and Whyte can hang around for as long as they did, Sasha can too.

I think he has the chin but he doesn’t have the movement on the outside that Takam and Parker displayed. Povetkin will probably look to be more ambitious than both those guys were and I think AJ is very underrated on the inside, he can throw big body shots, upper cuts, and can vary his punches.

I think Povetkin can last the distance but he will have to fight to survive, I got him getting stopped around 7-9

Yes he can. He may not and of course much depends on how his opponent chooses to fight, but he's very capable of going the distance.

Maybe, he does have a good chin but Wlad would of stopped him if he didn't smother his work due to a lack of an inside game and Joshua does have an inside game, though he doesn't hit as hard as Wlad.

AJ might do what no one has done to Povetkin before and rip him with chop shots. Povetkin can take it to the head all day long , but he's probably weaker downstairs.
I think Joshua will go after the body area early.

    Yes.

Joshuas offensive game has become stagnant, I will be very surprised indeed if he legit stops povetkin. (Unless povetkins stamina really let's him down)

Yes he can, not solely of the front foot though, i think Povetkin will have learned from Takam and Parkers experiences that he is going to have to be on the backfoot in stahes with plenty of head and upperbody movement, but at the same time hes also going to have to spend a lot more time on the front foot than those 2 if he is going to have a chance of winning.

Povetkin definitely has the capability to go the distance, but like Vykus said above me, he can't be too defensive and let joshua pick his shots

Povetkin's back-foot game is kind of underrated!

If we factor in British stoppages (a la klitschko/Takam) as well - the short answer: he won't.

But could very well see him stand his ground at the end.

Povetkin is a P4P ATG, a man that would rule a <225 division. But this time he is facing yet another talented SHW...

In my opinion, this is going to look like a schoolyard fight when a brave kid is standing up against a much bigger bully, holding his ground but still looking like a total mess at the end, while both sides of the spectators will get pissed of by the end result - but the little guy also's winning everybody's respect at the final bell nevertheless.

Exactly. I wouldn't say I "suspect" he can stand his ground so much as I expect him to.

Povetkin is as durable as they come and he has good head and body movement when he is so inclined. I rate his chances of seeing the end as quite high. I also think he has a decent shot at putting Joshua on his arse and derailing Hearn's cash train.
