How does this match up go if they were to face off at welterweight? I honestly believe Hearns could potentially put a serious beating on Mayweather. What do you guys think?

If you were to create a fighter to beat Floyd at welterweight then he would look like Tommy Hearns.

Tommy is Floyd's Kryptonite. You can't get a worse style match up.

People like to mention the fact that Floyd would get stopped by Hearns or beaten by Leonard but I think it's a bit harsh on Floyd, and maybe proof that he's held in very high regard even by his detractors. Floyd started at super feather. Tommy went from welter all the way up to cruiserweight.

They'd have an emergency trauma unit ringside complete with surgeon and IV bags for when the inevitable happened and Hearns stretched Floyd's neck out by 2 inches. Can you imagine Floyd surviving that car bomb that Hearns unloaded on Duran? I can't.

Could you imagine Floyd's shoulder roll to counter right, or the pull counter against the best 1-2 in the sport. How easily he'd get under the left hook on a much taller fighter? I'd be an interesting fight. Hearns by KO in 7.

At welter, Floyd has a chance. He might have to switch tactics and become the aggressor just as Leonard did.

At 154 and above Hearns has a major advantage.

At lighter weights like 140, 135, Floyd destroys Hearns.

Floyd never fought a Hearns who had a jab like that who would throw the right. Hearns said himself it would be a tough fight and said he would probably keep it simple and jab and then throw rights, as Emanuel said the style is easy for Hearns.. Jab jab jab and right hands. Don't go crazy on him, just win the rounds like he did against Benitez.

Mayweather never fought a Haerns with such skills you mean. Hearns fought many guys with skills and guys with better skills. Leonard and Benitez, real greats who fought them all. Floyd handpicked. Hearns using his jab sits back and waits for Floyd to make a mistake. If he does not he just jabs all night and wins a boring decision.

I don't think Floyd as the chin to be the aggressor in this fight . But i think he'd try it ...and get stopped

I meant what I said. Floyd is slippery enough to avoid most of Hearns’ big shots. Then he might entice him to get too close...

I think Hearns uses his jab like he did against Hill. He stayed on the outside of Hill and just sat back, and he did with Benitez also. Floyd never fought Hearns caliber fighter. He had a good career handpicking at the right time. Be happy that he did not face Hearns.
