At their prime who would win in a fight between Mike Tyson and Rocky Marciano?

Also you didn’t answer the previous question. Does Marciano on his worst day lose to Buster? Does Marciano perform better then Tyson against Holyfield? I think if you’re serious you know the answer to those questions.

I don’t think Tyson punched with more variety.Marciano threw punches from all sorts of angles.

Tyson was not much bigger either. The main advantage Tyson had was his speed, which is a good advantage to have.

Marciano would have the Stamina especially in a 15 round fight. If it goes into the later rounds Tyson would be in trouble imo.

Marciano also was a lot tougher mentally. Plus was never seriously hurt.

My answer to those questions would be "yes" and "no".

My guess is that Tyson at his best goes right through Marciano at his best.

30 lbs of muscle is a big difference to me. It's as much as Rocky has on a today's WWs, more in many cases.

I definitely think Tyson threw with more variety. Right hook to the body followed by right uppercut to the chin was something Rocky could not do. He didn't have much of a jab or a straight right either. Tyson actually had a great jab for such a short guy. He was far, far superior to Rocky as a combination puncher.

Rocky had better stamina and work rate, yes. And I can go with that he was mentally tougher as well, even though I think Tyson's mental toughness often gets very underrated. I don't think it would go long enough or be competitive enough for those things to be a factor, though.

Marciano has never ever seen or shared the Ring with a fighter of Tyson's caliber...prime vs prime.....Marciano looked like a midget next to Grandpa Louis and on the Groucho Marxx show the Swedish chick in almost flat heels is taller than him......

As mentioned above , Marciano has never faced anything even close to Tyson in his career because he mainly fought no hopers or washed up old man with 6758461 fights on their clock and they had one thing in common , skinny.

Marciano has nothing in his arsenal that Tyson had not seen before, nothing, until the Douglas fight you can count on one hand how often he took a major shot and I bet my bottom dollar that Bonecrusher, Bruno and Tucker hit at least as hard but most likely harder than the Italian stallion.

The brain dead idiots on this forum have never figured out that you cannot under any circumstances come straight at Tyson and slug, it is absolute suicide.........you need lateral movement, lots of size, a stiff consistent jab and clinch and clinch and clinch.........Marciano does none of the above.

Marciano is made to order for Tyson...........and you have to really hate Marciano to match him up with Tyson.......him crouching over Tyson could not miss him with uppercuts even if he tried and Marciano would wake up in the dressing room asking who won the fight.

A Tyson /Marciano encounter would have a similar ending to Marvin Frazier/Spinks/The Truth....a complete blow out.

These Marciano fanatics are almost as crazy as the Ali fanatics who think he could beat Joshua or Wladimir

Ali does have speed, movement and arguably the jab over Wlad and AJ. Marciano has nothing over Tyson and wasn´t made to take steps back:

    Game Over.

Another forum and another one of these dumb Marciano vs threads. Tyson was 5'10 220 in his prime. Marciano was 5'10 180 which means Tyson was 40 pounds heavier. Which also means Tyson was actually a heavyweight while Marciano was a cruiserweight by modern standards. Tyson actually fought heavyweights while Marciano fought 190 pound fighters or less.

Marciano couldn't handle the punches of 160 pound light punching Ted Lowry. Tyson by 1st round KO.

Wladmir got beat the 6'2 240 pound Ross Purrity. But you believe Ali coudln't do it? But Marciano fanatics are crazy to think a 180 pound fighter could beat a modern sized heavyweight.

sauhund II I couldn't agree more. Marciano fans are delusional. Rocky Marciano has to be one the most overrated boxers in history. Even for a 180 pound fighter Marciano wasn't anything special. His opponents were either bums, mob controlled fighters or old men. Tyson would of beat Marciano worse than he beat Marvis Frazier.

But Wladimir seemed to excel against smaller speedy boxer types. It was a type of fighter he seemed to thrive against. As far as jab goes Ali was not used to being at a size disadvantage and this could help negate the jab.

Tyson would not need the later rounds.
