He has predicted Joshua to lose every fight bar Takam since Whyte.

Go ahead lol, I've never in my life been a Ortiz fanboy. I'm sure I've said a kind word about him before, but I've never gushed he was some wrecking machine then changed my tune when the Wilder fight was signed. At least not that I can recollect

I'm just saying as far as skills/intangables whatever there isn't much separating Joshua & Wilder besides what side of the ocean they live on. Joshua has taken more chances and thus has better wins, but when they fight make no mistake they are pretty equal meaning a 50/50 fight.

In another context though, Wlad was 41, and Pov 39, while Briedis and Gassiev in their primes

From a pure boxing standpoint, Price boxed better against Povetkin before the stoppage than Joshua.

Don't ban a guy for calling you out.....

You don't want posters doing it, set an example and don't do it yourself.

It was from another thread, he and I were arguing who'd win the fight, he was clearly right, but here he came acting like it was a whitewash, and it wasn't, AJ got rocked early and lost the lion's share of the rounds. So he was right, but its not like my assessment was too far off either.

But again, Wlad/Pov were post-prime.....But Joshua is still probably pre-prime, in the context of the history of HW's.

I didn't ban him for calling me out, I banned him for being a **** posting troll, much like yourself, only a far more excessive version, I've been meaning to ban him for quite some time, he reminded me today.

    Your scoring wasn't the problem....

But do you seriously still claim the stoppage was premature, even though Team Povetkin wanted it stopped?

Agreed. Having AJ ahead by four rounds nullifies any judge's credibility.

Povetkin is a world class boxer, this should not be a surprise. He's a stylistic nightmare for someone like Joshua. Povetkin's only real issue is that, whilst he's still able to perform to a high level, it's at an age which prevents him from doing so for a sustained period over a fight. That's still OK at heavyweight, because being able to do what he can do for 5 rounds makes him still one of the best in the world, and probably good enough to win titles, but coming up against someone like Joshua - who was able to soak up the worst of his shots and then land later down the line - is probably a step too far.

Hope he doesn't retire though. Would like to see Fury and Wilder in with him - I think they'd struggle too.

100% agree...if they weren’t so far past prime. Povetkin was battered and lost pretty much every round against a man that AJ went life and death with quite recently, 5 whole years ago. You got to ask yourself, why was someone who hasn’t looked great against Hammer & Price, managed to look that good against AJ?

And look at the way the fights you listed went. Usyk had a close fight with Breidis before 120-108ing Gassiev, whereas AJ went life and death with Klitschko & came from behind after being rocked several times against Povetkin

To go back to my original point I’m not hating on AJs achievement, I’m purely debating the point of putting AJ with Usyk & Loma.
