Just killed the vibe of the whole night, disgraceful performance, Eddie needs to stop doing him favours just because he is AJ's mate.

He’s managed by Joshua. That’s the problem. Although I think after last night he’s done enough to get demoted.

It was so bad that Johnny Nelson compared it to his own fights.

He is too high up the undercard. Fights like he has no confidence in his chin

he’s better off entering an MMA tournament or WWF as he’s the best there is in tying someone up even though he’s 6 ft away from them.

He is so bad to watch it’s painful

He came out and apologised on Twitter and said need to learn more inside game and it was a horrible watch, even for him.

What were his corner telling him inbetween rounds?

I respect Okolie for having three tough fights at domestic level in a year. If there were more of it boxing would be a better place.

That being said there should be an immediate rematch ordered here. It won’t happen and there will be no demand for it. But the whole fight had the same pattern. Fighters engage, both/one throw, Okolie ducks, holds and moves Askin back to the ropes, ref splits them, repeat. Adam Smith said ‘I think Askin will also be kicking himself in the morning’. No he won’t Adam, there was nothing he could have possibly done. Nothing. Okolie is huge for a Cruiser, huge. I’m actually not sure I have seen any bigger. He uses his physical advantages in an illegal manner. Bear in mind this is EXACTLY the same as the Chamberlain fight.

It’s highly annoying because Okolie has derailed two careers with this tactic, one a young up and comer and one who was revitalised. Both had chances to really kick on.

My favourite fights of all time:
    1. Wladimir Klitschko vs Alexander Povetkin.
    2. Matty Askin vs Lawrence Okolie.
