I thought Price should have fought on. Easy for me to say that in the comfort of my sofa but he has a huge reach advantage and a working arm. Also consider what’s at stake. The precedent has been set by guys like Haye and Williams. I find it disappointing when boxers quit with arm injuries. Vitali jacked it in once with a rotator cuff injury. You still have a working arm, I don’t get it at all.
I don't like to question whether a boxer's heart is in it, but Price quitting suggests to me that he was there for the paycheck and that he's only in the game for the money now which there's nothing wrong with of course. If he does continue on, he'll probably be used as cannon fodder for up and coming prospects similar to Kuzmin.
You don't understand why someone would stop boxing when they can only use one arm, and could end their careers by worsening their injury?
Price quit like a ***** He quit because he was gassing out, feeling the body shots and about to be outworked and stopped So he came up with the arm injury excuse as a way out of avoiding another pulsating KO loss. No doubt in my mind that Kuzmin would have stopped him in the 5th.
He said something like that in his IFL interview after tonight's fight, he took the fight for "business reasons" even though it was short notice and he was injured. What bothers me now is.. if the injury is genuine then he (and maybe Hearn/Matchroom) has conned paying punters (Price fans) in to buying tickets and PPVs when he/they knew he was injured and unfit to box just for him to get a little payday. Also he passed his medical, who performed that medical examination and where they aware of the injury? Did Price disclose it? Anyway, I hope Hearn gives him the sack now, I hope we never see him again on a live TV event again. I'm sick of him, how many "last chance saloon" fights can a fighter have?
Yeah the 'last chance saloon' line can go now. Unfortunately his only chance of making money in the sport is by taking fights like this. Every time he's said that he's taking his comeback seriously and that he wants to build his way back up, he gets offered fights like this and as usual, they end up badly for him.
Shame, Thompson ruined price it's seems it was to soon still up until fury fighting vlad price stepped up way sooner but it finished him imo confidence and mentality size anyway price is back will now have to change the name it seems Un lucky price enjoy your health and what life brings you from here on in
He realised Kuzmin could take his power, was knackered, knew he didn't have it in him to box the distance so quit to save himself from another inevitable stoppage defeat. All this "you have to respect him for getting in there" and "you're just a keyboard warrior for criticizing him" is a load of rubbish. He's a professional fighter on a £20 PPV, in a stadium where people have forked out a lot of money for tickets, travel, accommodation etc and the fans deserve better. A display like that is simply not good enough. Whatever he decides to do from here is up to him but it's time for Hearn and matchroom to call it a day with him.
I can see him getting one last payday the old bicep injury excuse might have saved him and he will be wheeled out for " the people's championship belt " against Dave Allen in one of Eddies many PPV slots that need filling these days !
Price will be back, you can guarantee another comebacks on the cards. Version 7 will be the best of them all. Let Frank sign him, and feed Dubois to this savage plumber. Lol.
