Povetkin had the better of early rounds, it was 3-3 on my scorecard, but Joshua was starting to take over the fight at this point and it would have likely ended 7-5 or 8-4 if it went to the scorecards (9-3 10-2 on the official ones) Povetkin was gassed in round 5.

Povetkin is the better skilled boxer but guys like AJ and Wilder have that huge power that will catch you sooner or later.

    From povetkin mouth:

"I want to thank everyone who was concerned and worried about me. I'm all right, I lost the fight. Although I felt like I was leading it, I missed a punch [and then got countered], and then you can't do anything anymore. Joshua was stronger," Povetkin said.

"I feel good," - when he was questioned about his health.

He gives full credit while the usual stay salty

I thought Joshua fought a smart and patient fight, and Povetkin fought a great fight for him as well. Joshua took his time snapping his jab into Povetkin's body over and over letting Povetkin work and win the early rounds. The momentum shifted imo in the 6th. He was down going into the 7th, but it seemed to me like he knew what he was doing the whole time. He lined up Povetkin for that right hand that started the dominoes perfectly, that was in no way a lucky punch.

See it's possible to give credit to both fighters for a good fight.

Swedish commentators had AJ up by 6 and also accused Povetkin as a steroid cheater...

I wasn't scoring or paying too much attention to who was winning rounds as I knew this was gonna end in a KO.

However, I thought the ducker was just edging it going into the 7th. He was landing jabs and catching most of Povetkin's impressive looking hooks. Povetkin was looking the most dangerous though for the for the first 4 rounds, and then I felt he began to slow a bit and the inevitable was coming.

I talked a bunch of **** about how Josh was gonna clobber Pov. I was nervous Joshua was losing until Joshua landed that KO. Povetkin not only was ahead, but comfortably and obviously ahead.

I thought Joshua would lose that fight after the first 3 rounds.

After rewatching the fight he didn't look as bad as i initially thought he did but he still didn't look good, the knockout was spectacular though.

    I just scored it.

    Round one Povetkin 10-9 ( Joshua's knees buckled )
Round two Povetkin 10-9 ( Joshua holding on )
    Round three 10-10 - even
    Round four Joshua 10-9
    Round 5 Povetkin 10-9 ( close )
    Round six Joshua 10-9

round 7, Joshua lands tremendous shots, TKO/KO

So I had Povetkin up 3-2-1 prior to the stoppage.

Joshua's power and Povetkin's age and slowing down that enabled him to land it is the story of this fight. In his prime years, Povetkin could fight like he did in rounds 1 & 2 for a full 12 rounds. Last night at age 39, he could not.

This is very true against top quality opposition that AJ fights, people run AJ down but let's see Wilder fight the same class boxers.Fury is a move in the right way & if Wilder pulls out this forum will go nuts.
