Canelo hasn't fought 3x a year in a long long time

Especially after a brutal fight which he was cut...

I think they do it in May

 

I would prefer that Canelo fights 3 times a year.

 

Canelo won't fight Lemmy, that's a high risk low money reward fight. He'll fight some fringe contender

 

Canelo vs Lemieux is pointless.
Canelo should either fight a 3rd GGG fight, the Saunders /Andrade winner , Derevyanchenko/ Jacobs winner or Murata

 

so canelo is facing 3G's best win/2nd best win as a stay busy easy win opponent?

I don’t care what Canelo does, but 2 thing is sure:

GGG trilogy not coming earlier than 19 September.

He is not going to fight with BJS or Jacobs in the next 4-5 year.

 

I believe Canelo is fighting Lemieux next. Lemieux is now the mandatory to Canelo's WBA belt.

It was always the plan for Canelo to fight Lemieux but it's taken longer for it to come to fruition than they had hoped for two reasons.

-Lemieux lost to Golovkin. If he had won, Canelo would have fought him then.
-Lemieux had another chance at a belt when he fought BJ Saunders. He lost that fight too. If he had won, Canelo would have fought him for the belt.

Lemieux-O'Sullivan was a WBA mandatory eliminator type of fight. It was understood the winner gets Canelo. All three fighters are under the Golden Boy banner, easy fights to make no matter who won Lemieux-O'Sullivan.

You guys might remember back in May Golovkin was looking for a replacement opponent that ended up being Martirosyan. Well...O'Sullivan was all ready to sign to fight Golovkin until Oscar swooped in and made him an offer he couldn't refuse: $400,000 to fight Lemiuex on the Canelo-Golovkin II undercard with the winner getting Canelo (if he got the victory). Martirosyan made $225,000 to fight Golovkin, O'Sullivan made $400,000 to fight Lemieux with the understanding that the winner gets Canelo down the line.

Lemieux won and is now the WBA mandatory to Canelo's belt. You figure Golden Boy had to grease a few palms over at the WBA to get that mandatory spot for their guy Lemieux and they aren't going to let that go to waste.

If Canelo's cut over the eye is good to go in December look for him to 100% fight Lemieux. If the eye needs more time they will do it in May and probably feed Lemieux a bum while they wait for next year.

 

If GGG can fight one of Canelo's leftover's leftover, then no problem here.

 

• He might have to , Oscar wont let ginger drug boi fight Jacobs, BJS, Charlo or anyone with a pulse .
• Plus against in-house lemmy canelo can get back to the Beef flavoured peds & favourite jugdes & refs!
• Poor 'Ol Lemmy!

Good matchup, but easy win for Canelo. Lemieux is toast against coordinated guys. Golovkin's next fight at 160 will DEFINITELY be against Canelo, they won't put him in with a mover or a big guy. He looks drained at middle though, and didn't really get going until round 5 or so.

It's alright if Canelo faces Lemiuex next. Nothing wrong with taking a lighter touch every now and then. He also has only fought once this year.
