Depending on which decade, there are rankings in the past where AJ could fare well: Sep 2006 Rankings 1. Wladimir Klistchko 2. Hasim Rahman 3. James Toney 4. Sergei Liakhovich 5. Lamon Brewster 6. Calvin Brock 7. Sam Peter 8. Nicolay Valuev 9. Chris Byrd 10. John Ruiz 1992 Rankings 1. Holyfield 27-0 2. Bowe 30-0 3. Ruddock 26-3-1 4. Larry Holmes 54-3 5. Moorer 29-0 6. Witherspoon 37-3 7. Tucker 44-1 8. Foreman 71-3 9.Lewis 20-0 10. Mercer 18-1 Who does he beat on these lists?
Mercer took a knee, wasn't on the floor. Technically you're correct but WK was the first guy to lay him out.
No, no way. A 22 fight Tyson beats him. Or a 22 fight Joe Louis. A 22 fight Luis Ortiz might do it too. I wouldn’t rule out a 22 fight Povetkin.
As much as I like Vitali his resume is very thin. He doesn't have anything on his resume to compare to Wladimir and Povetkin (even the old versions).
Vitali would have knocked out Old Wlad and Povetkin in his sleep. These guys are incredibly passed it.
Probably, I think Vitali beats prime Wlad with no problems. But you don't get kudos on woulda couldas, you have to actually do it.
Joshua has a lot of unfinished business at this stage in his career. It all depends on the winner of the Wilder vs Joshua fight. Wilder has chalked up so many wins that if he beats Joshua, Wilder will look more likely to be in that top 15. If Joshua beats Wilder and Fury, then I'd put him up there in my top 15.
He definitely needs more of a resume but man, his defenses at this stage in his career are pretty damn impressive. He has beaten 4 people in the current top 10 (Boxrec), considering he has only had 22 fights that is exceptional - it's early days yet but I think he is well on track to earn his spot at this rate.
Who on earth had Ortiz beat after 22 fights to suggest he could beat Klitschko/Povetkin/Whyte/Parker etc?
Resume vs resume, Joshua wins. It's really not debatable. I could list their names and compare it side by side, but there isn't much point to do so, you should know how they stack up against each other. Vitali's own resume isn't spectacular so it's not like it's a hard task to overtake him. Not to mention, Joshua's a unified champion with 4 defenses and the #1 heavyweight. He's definitely eclipsed Vitali already. Wlad's another story though, due to his very long dominance. So that will take some time if he's even able to do it.
I don’t think he will be able to do it, but in UK judges will do it for him, coz according to judges povetkin only won one round before it was stopped . Well what can I say in UK he won olympic gold after losing three fights. Basically he can’t lose fighting in UK.
