That fight was absolute garbage and it was all because of Okolie, his style is absolutely awful and he could of easily been DQ'ed.

Round 6: 10-9 Joshua (Joshua opens up and lands big, Povetkin still has a good round but you can feel the momentum change)

    58-56 Povetkin after 6.

Joshua fought a really good fight so far imo, being patient and the jab to the body while not winning him rounds has been key to get Povetkin to a point where Joshua can open up his attack in 6 & 7.

What a right hand that put Povetkin in trouble, there was no coming back from that! Brilliant performance by Povetkin, and honestly Joshua deserves credit for fighting the right fight to be able to end it spectacularly like that. Let Povetkin work, jab jab jab to the body, let Povetkin work repeat. Smart, patient performance from Joshua capped with a highlight reel stoppage.

    Re-watched the main event.

Povetkin won the first two clearly. Thought Joshua shaded the fourth, while the third and fifth were quite close; could be scored either way depending on if you liked Joshua's more consistent jab or Sasha's better but occasional power punches. But, in the sixth, Joshua seemed to have worked Povetkin out and clearly dominated that frame, leading to that sweet seventh round finish.

I think 4-2 either way is acceptable, though I personally had it three apiece.

Pre-Wlad Joshua would have lost to Povetkin.

Disagree on the first round, Joshua won the whole round until getting clipped at the very end. That made it close but Joshua still wins that round for me. I thought he lost 2-5 & won 1 & 6, 58-56 Povetkin after 6.

Fair enough, I just thought controlling the distance was overcome by the three piece that landed and wobbled AJ. But I thought AJ's jab and strong close at the end of the third, and more consistent jab (plus the uppercut that cut Sasha) was enough to win the fourth. As it stands, we were only a round away from one another, and both within an acceptable range of scoring imo.

It was either 4-2 or 5-1 Povetkin, and the one or two rounds that AJ won were damn near even. Quite frankly I'm not sure what you find that's so amusing.

Yeah I had it 4-2 Povetkin after 6. I am British so I wanted AJ to win, I expected him to win but I thought Povetkin would be dangerous and he was actually very dangerous.

I was and still am absolutely astonished and disgusted that the judges had AJ up.

The 5-1 AJ card is truly disgusting, that should still be an issue even though the cards were not needed.

I'll go as far as to say that is blatant corruption, there is no way that is just a "poor card".

5-1 Povetkin is a ludicrous card mate. You was routing for Povetkin though and you eagerly await the day Joshua loses so I'm not surprised you scored it that way, I'm just mildly amused.

4-2 is fine, but 5-1 is ludicrous, **** off.
