I think Povetkin deserves another title shot. I'm sure he will not give up, he proved that he was better than AJ in terms of boxing skills.
He will fight Bellew, Parker and Whyte, I'm sure he will defeat them and earn another challenge against either Joshua or Wilder.

Joshua would have a far better gage on him next time and definatley understand that sparring partners are essential in preparation bc he didn't have them.

Povetkin would get brutally stopped again and faster.

Povetkin vs Parker is the fight to make for a equal match, joshua will always be to powerful for povetkin, the combination of speed and power at 6'6 is way to much.

Theres a reason why Joshua will be heavily favored over his opponents who are still top 5 HW's..

Don't see how it merits a rematch. Yes Povetkin had moments of success in the fight, but he was beat convincingly and emphatically. And I don't see a rematch ending differently. Maybe quicker but same outcome.

This. Povetkin will be older and Joshua now knows how to time Povetkin. Povetkin would be lucky to make it three rounds in a rematch.

I'd watch but don't think there would be much demand.

There wasn't much demand from fans the first time round.

It wouldn't be a terrible matchup but there are a few other very make able fights that would come before it or be more important. Obviously Wilder or Fury whoever comes out on top. Pulev vs Fury winner has to be fought at some point. Ortiz and Miller in the US would both be decent fights and give AJ more of a US presence which would help with ppv sales. Whyte is on a good roll amd the rematch woild do huge numbers in the UK. And the Usyk fight within the next year or so. All of these for differing reasons will likely happen before Povetkin 2.
Povetkin gave AJ his second toughest fight and had him in some trouble early that being said Joshua adapted and more or less had him figured out in the latter half of the fight. As many have said it'd be the same result but a little quicker in the rematch.

Povetkin clearly proved he still has gas in the tank. Povetkin/Parker could be a good shout.

Fairly sure AJ will beat an even older Povetkin. I still think Pov will clock Wilder though.

Why, was one retirement cheque not enough for Pov?

    How was he better?
He timed Joshua's jabs. Joshua adapted and started stiff arming him. So if he did miss a jab, he could just hold his hand out there to control Povetkin.
It worked, Povetkin's connect rate dropped and soon after he got stopped.

Just because he had a quick start, doesn´t mean he deserves a rematch.

why. he gave him a good fight but nothing to show he really could beat him. It is good it was relatively competitive
