Based on legacy to the sport and in era accomplishments, not on H2H except as a tiebreaker or tiemaker, or else it would be overwhelmingly modern fighters. I think its fairest to generally regard the clear best fighters of their era over the #2's or 3's of an earlier era, hence Holyfield and Frazier being lower on my list than most others.

    1. Joe Louis Best win streak of all time. Matches with Schmeling epic precursor and symbol to WWII.
    2. Ali. Best series of wins, good argument that he is as culturally significant as Louis.
    3. Marciano. Underrated wins, only undefeated HW champ who retired on top, best (nonactive) ko record.
    4. Lennox Lewis. Ushered in SHW era. Along with Ali, best series of wins in HW history, emerged on top of arguably the best period of HW history.
    5. Johnson. Best of era, important cultural impact.
    6. Sullivan. Essentially began HW boxing as a world sport.
    7. Dempsey. Took HW boxing to a new level in popularity, matches helped bring radio into public life
    8. Foreman. Unprecedented in winning titles in two separate eras. Best #2 of his era of all time.
    9. Holmes. One of longest win streaks of all time, best of era.
10A. Wlad Klitschko Either he or his brother was best of era, took SHW to a new level, along with the non western worlds participation in the sport.
10B. Vitali Klitscko Either he or his brother was best of era, took SHW to a new level, along with the non western worlds participation in the sport.
    11. Mike Tyson Second best of era, unprecedented excitement.
    12. Joe Frazier Third best of the best era.
    13. Max Schmeling See Louis description
    14. Jeffries Best of a weak era.
    15. Tunney Second most accomplished of era, winner in two of the most renowned fights in HW history
    16. Holyfield Third most accomplished fighter of his era.
    17. Liston. Maybe best of the tweener years between Ali and Marciano, or second best of the early Ali years
    18. Corbett. Winner of the first bout that put HW boxing on the map.
    19. Charles. Best of tweener era, or second best of Marciano era. One of the most title defenses of all time.
    20. Walcott. Second best of tweener era, or third best of Marciano era.
    21. Bowe. Fourth best of the best or second best HW era of all time.
    22. Patterson. Second best of a tweener era, or third best of early Ali era.
    23. Fitzsimmons. Important in early development of sport
    24. Joshua. Currently is #1 in the division, in top 15 in most historical measures of the sport, can crater if he starts losing
    25. Burns. 11(trash) title defenses, second best of Johnson era
    26. Baer. 3rd best of Louis era.

Tyson Fury after he is finished with the two bums Wilder and AJ

    hypejobs.

Wlad as well. fought stiffs his whole career. total bums.

Not a single heavyweight in the history of the sport can touch Tyson Fury. 6'8" with even more slickness than Ali.

Virtually ever person you name would be a cruiserweight based off modern standards which proves you are a casual fan. Lewis ushered in the Superheavy weights? Which is funny since Riddick Bowe is only 1/4 inch shorter than Lewis and was champion first. But hey like I said you are clearly a casual fan. Also the person asked who is the top 25 heavyweights of all time. Not talk about which heavyweight you think is more popular or meant more to a era. But again you are clearly just a casual fan. If you were actually a legit boxing fan you would actually name people who are modern heavyweights and you would list people in order of who would win head to head. But as I said again you are clearly just a casual fan.

Anybody who has 180 pound Marciano on the list or 170 pound Gene Tunney on the list are clearly casual boxing fans and biased boxing fans.

Not a bad list overall. But Wlad way too high, while Willard too low IMO

    maybe umm show me yours

I discluded some LHWs on the grounds that they are primarily LHW atgs. I see Tunney as more ATG LHW that acheived HoF wins at HW, than ATG at primarily HW. But maybe I am wrong.

I mean, in Herol's list he's way too high. I've not expected him being ranked only 1 place lower than Willard by Herol :)
