Povetkin times Joshua's jab well. He landed those combinations as a counter. But Joshua adapted and started controlling Povetkin with the lead hand. Whenever Joshua jabbed, he kept his hand out there instead of retracting it. He would control Povetkin and mitigate whatever came back at him.
After that, Povetkin had no answers. So Joshua just kept tagging him to the body and set up the right hand.

Won every round? Are you Adalaide Byrd? I'm guessing you didn't see the punch stats, not that they are always a true reflection of the round winners, but Pov was outlanded overall, yet had a VERY slight edge in power connects, but then when you only land 4 jabs that's going to be the case lol.

I had it 3 even and could see it 4-2 either direction. Giving either guy every round isn't just a stretch, it just shows an agenda and lack of objectivity.

A boxing lesson is losing a fight from start to finish.

He's prob one of those sports fans who shows you a load of meaningless stats after their team gets a hammering claiming that his guys were the better side.

Probably... While ultimately missing out the most important stat.

Povetkin lacked the power post peds, and the stamina being 40 years old.

He was never going to win the fight. Yes he is a more skilful boxer, but he got brutally KO.

No it was no lucky punch , but Povetkin was outboxing him and it was not an even fight.

Unfortunately you seemed to concentrate on the guy you wanted to win and didn't pay much attention to the fight. Povetkin came out well and looked great, but all the while Joshua was making adjustments and breaking him down.
You clearly ignored the body jabs which were seriously getting to him, then the fact that fighting upright wasn't working, so adjusted. Opting for a wide legged low centre of gravity stance whilst keeping the chin tucked, the right up and the left low. That's called giving a different look and swing traps. Low left disguised where the jab was coming from and going to, dpi Povetkin couldn't anticipate the shot, merely react... So thinks a head jab is coming, instead it goes to the stomach/chest area... Boom. Lights out.

Doesn't matter one iota. Joshua did the job.

As a suffering Scottish football fan (yeah I know) it sounds familiar.

We were outplaying Brazil until we lost 4-0.

Outbox isn't just landing more. It's the old 'hit, without getting hit' and in the heavyweight division where one punch is all it takes, the ability to not get hit becomes crucial to your survival.

    Tyson Fury outboxes.
