No doubts Birm,as you say he hurt bigger guys. The Doke s fight saw his full power at his Best. I know Dokes was past it but not many put him out like that. And yep he took Tyson's power for 19 round s ,so when he's up for it he can take it .

I truly believe that a prime Ruddock could rival a prime Foreman for one shot power, Foreman was just more versatile and had a better selection of punches.

But it always made me question if Ruddock could manage to pull off the same thing on Frazier that Foreman did, because he has all of the physical tools.

This. Marciano's crouch was better than Tyson's and he'd have Ruddock gassed out. Frazier's a better inside fighter than Tyson and would be crowding Ruddock the whole fight, which would take away Ruddcoks ability to get space to generate power.

Frazier is my favourite all time fighter, if hes caught before he starts smoking its a problem, big problem, but what a lot of fans don't know imo, is that Joe was on the slide with Foreman, he peaked against Ali in the FOTC, and he wasn't the same after, it took more out of the winner. Now Frazier against Foreman, that Frazier is vulnerable against Ruddock, but when Joe was prime I think he is very hard to catch/time and was perpetual, a more complete intense fighter than Foreman fought. That said, the left of Ruddock is capable of damaging anyone, and most would crumble caught right including prime Frazier.

    1. Marciano is a slow starter. He could easily just be iced early or hurt so badly that he never gets in the fight. Especially if you give up 5 inches in height, 10+ inches in reach, 45lbs of muscle and alot of athleticism.

    2. Razor ruddock has faster feet by far and very long legs, Marciano cant crowd him in anything but the very smallest ring. And if he does he will get leaned on and muscled around by a 235lb athletic freak

    3. Razor doesn't need much space for power he has dropped people up close with uppercuts while stepping back

    4. Marciano crouch is better than Tyson but it won't help him. Razor Ruddock times headmovement and measures you with his left before sneaking it under with the smash, and then feinting the uppercut and coming with the hook etc... which is Tyson had to use his reflexes to try to avoid it rather than the traditional headmovement

Razor Ruddock = modern sized heavyweight who fought modern sized heavyweight. Marciano = no talent unskilled 180 pound bum who is only mentioned by certain boxing fans for a clearly obvious reason. So based off that Razor Ruddock sparks out Marciano in 1 or 2 rounds tops.

Right you mean the Humphrey Jackson who started his career weighing 160 and had a career record of 4-3? You mean the Bill Wilson who was a bum who fought in the same bad era that Marciano fought in? You mean the Carmine Vingo who is 189 pounds which means he is still lighter than David Jaco. You mean the Pat Connelly who was a bum? Nice try though . I guess you need some way the justify that 180 pound Marciano could beat a 6'3 230 pound man. I guess if you are going to try to tear down Ruddock then why not bring up the fact Marciano almost got knocked out by a 5'10 160 pound Ted Lowry?

That isn't what your mom calls me though. Are you going to cry now because your little Italian hero Rocky Marciano was a no talent bum? Come on tell me how hard it hurts you. It still won't change the fact that the average middleweight today could knock out Marciano. If light punching journeyman middleweight Ted Lowry could almost do it then guys like prime Roy Jones Jr would of put Marciano to bed. Deal with it.

Originally Ruddock boxed some. Then he fell in love with The Smash.

    No.
He's not keeping either of those champions down with one of those. He may shake them. Score a knockdown. Look at the # of sledgehammers Foreman landed in less than 2 rounds and Joe was on his feet willing to go back in. Ruddock wouldn't have the energy.

Ruddock and Foreman only fought a few common opponents. Tommy Morrison which Foreman lost on points and Ruddock got knocked out, David Jaco. Foreman won by 1st round TKO and Ruddock got knocked out. Carlos Hernandez where Foreman won by TKO and Ruddock won by DQ, and Ken Lakusta which both won by KO. Foreman in 3 and Ruddock in the first. You also know Foreman was way past his prime for each of these bouts. So if you mean Ruddock was just as hard as a puncher as old Foreman. I doubt it by okay. If you mean Ruddock was equal in power to young Foreman then no way. What we do know is Foreman could take a punch way better than Ruddock.

Maybe when he loads the left but George was more balanced. A threat with both hands. Besides power Foreman had a physcopath mentality when he hurt a man. He was a terror.
