I also think Tyson would’ve benefitted from Cus’s matchmaking. Cus knew Tyson was very psychologically fragile and he would’ve steered him clear of guys like Holyfield and Lewis. Ironically, the public would’ve been okay with this, since Cus’s matchmaking would put Tyson in with guys he could knockout in exciting fashion. Instead of the embarrassing losses on his record, Tyson would be the likely victor in mythical matches with his main rivals/fathers, Holyfield and Lewis.
Wrong. See Tyson-Tillis, Tyson-Green, Tyson-Thomas, Tyson-Tucker, Tyson-Ruddock I, Tyson-Ruddock II, etc.
OK, every time Tyson fought someone elite who wasn't afraid of him. The Douglas, Holyfield and Lewis fights weren't really close.
One of the single dumbest monologues I have ever heard. Teddy Atlas had a silver spoon fed to him. The man's father was a wealthy doctor and he pissed all over every opportunity he had. From the opening seconds it was ridiculous. He said Mike Tyson around age 12 was bullied and would hide. How in the **** does what happened to a kid at age 12 affect their boxing greatness. He was 12, FFS. Teddy Atlas when he speaks makes everybody dumber.
Hard to say. Spinks was someone good and Mike wiped him out. Mike never was being beaten up and turned it around against a great. That is for sure.
Atlas makes Mayweather look like Marvin Hagler. At least Floyd is relevant, Atlas is just some bitter old man, failed trainer and horrible commentator.
