GGG isnt a draw doe he has 160k ppv vs Jacobs and 150k vs Lemiuex
Mind you, GGG was A side in those events against UNHEARD of B sides

So, GGG fights Canelo in Vegas twice
Lets look at Canelo vs Cotto in 2015
Sold 900k PPV, live gate of 12 million
Canelo GGG 1 sold 27 million live gate (3rd highest ever)
Canelo GGG 2 sold 24 million live gate (4th highest ever)

Each Canelo GGG fight more than doubled the Canelo Cotto fight gate
Keep in mind that PPV revenue is cut in half as the distributors take a their cut
Whereas live gate is feasted on by the fighters and their promotion

GGG is a solid B side and a great dance partner for Canelo as he has proved to be the best dancer, far surpassing Cotto, a HOF who has been on PPV many times before

Yep. Without GGG, Drugnelo does 300-500K.

I guess financially this is the height of Canelo's career, Golovkin's too. As long as the fight is entertaining, they'll keep making it.

Also of note that Canelo/Chavez Jr. PPV sold the same amount as Canelo/Golovkin II. Impressive for the Ginger to have sold 1M+ PPV's for four different fights.

Does anyone know how much the Khan and Smith fights sold?

I believe Canelo during his Showtime PPV days vs. Angulo and Lara sold around 250-350K, am I right?

Well it was a great fight, I think they will do a 3rd fight. Financially it makes sense and the fans want it.

Just think what that means to Vegas.

If GGG gets the decision in the 1st fight there's potentially no second fight, and definitely no third.

Against that background the draw & Canelo decision are a no-brainer, they have to keep the A-side credible to keep the money flowing and fans coming in.

    Canelo-Khan was 600k buys, Canelo-Smith 300-350k.

Rick Glazer has lower numbers (just over 300k / 200k) but these are from the mainstream sources.

Hey just remember Hopkins vs. Dawson I sold 40K PPV's...

That has to be one of the all time worst for an HBO production. I remember reading Barrera vs. Fana did like 20K PPV buys or somewhere around there.

Live gate and ppv is different.
GGG is a huge gate drawer because he's exciting and a must see.
He's not too bad in ppv number as well being a foreigner. Less than a handful active fighters did better in ppv numbers.

Live gate counts as double ppv rev because it goes directly to the promotion

According to Tom Loeffler, Golovkin made around 40M, Canelo around 50M with the second fight.
