Yea, which is why he retired until the right time came along. And he waited half a decade to fight Pac and for Mosley to hit 50, lol I kid, 40.

Floyd was Floyd. He figured out the fans would buy his "product", and he kept the marketing machinery rolling to keep the money rolling in.

It was a clear pattern. The top opponents were past prime, the weaker guys were prime. Opponents deliberately chosen.

When the fanboys mature in time, they'll be able to view it with a clear perspective and probably feel a little embarrassed.

Totally agree that no one wanted anything to do with the Floyd that wasnt a big draw at the time. He was the one that got ducked cuz they knew an L was coming. The risk far outweighed the reward. When Floyd became the ppv star that is where most of his resume is weak save for 2 or 3 fights.

However... "free Suge Knight"? Are you serious? How can anyone take you serious with that in your profile? The man is garbage.

Suge Knight has done more for people than the media is ever going to promote. I'm never going to celebrate the railroading of a brotha by the "just-us" system because he slapped some fools in his past that honestly deserved to be beat the hell up. Just like with me and Badbot disagreeing about slave names, I don't expect anyone to have any understanding of the great things Suge did for people. #FREE SUGE KNIGHT #FREE BILL COSBY

Does anybody think that it's weird that Mayweather was a WW champ for over a decade. And never attempted to unify all the belts?

Pac did a lot of the same thing though he didnt become WW champ until 2009. But I give him less grief for that due to his far tougher opposition before WW. And the fact that the man is a ****ing Flyweight Champ.

That said, the biggest draw in boxing couldn't get Porter, Thurman, Williams, Margarito, Thurman in the ring? Bull****, he didnt want them.

Suge Knight just cant stop banging at people. I'm pretty amazed hes still alive. The problem with being rude and aggressive with people is you dont know what they will do. One day you act a fool in front of some deranged guy or somebody who just doesnt give a **** and you get your head blown off.

Suge knight has already been knocked out cold for being a douchebag. Lucky hes alive.

And hes been shot multiple times. You cant iust run your mouth and act all tough around people. You never know the other guys mindset. You might find yourself staring down a glock 17.

When Floyd moved to 147, Mosley wasn't relevant anymore. Not at 147 anyways.
Shane had been campaigning at 154 for years prior to that.
Shane moved back down to 147 when Floyd moved up, but Shane kept jumping between 147 and 154.

The whole Pacquiao saga was complete BS from both sides.

Even if he did beat part time boxer DLH it was razor thin. Young Oscar beats him handily.

True, it was close. Close but clear for Floyd.
What is also true is that a few mid fight adjustments could have won DLH the fight.
And had Floyd made his adjustments a little quicker, he could have made it more one sided(so to speak).

The notion of had De La Hoya been younger, he would have 100% won is BS. Could he have won? Yes. But does he automatically win? Absolutely not.

Can we leave Floyd alone please. As much as I dislike the man outside of the ring you cannot argue with what he did in it.

Corrales was a killer - he took care of him easily.

Hatton was unbeaten - didn't win a round and beaten easily.

Then Canelo - how good has he become and id still say Floyd beats him today.

Enough , let it go . Floyd was great.

All these threads belong in classic.

Personally i believe he took 2 years off when Paul Williams, peak cotto, peak pacquiao and "prime" Margarito would all have had great chances at beating him.

He also had the benefit of not being drug tested for those 2 years. We know that the benefits of certain drugs last for years after stopping, so no wonder he didnt have a peoblem calling for advanced drug testing when he came back.

But hes still an ATG and Pacquiao was just as dirty when it comes to PEDs. I have pac and floyd both right next to each other if i was to make an ATG list

Pac and Floyd are both Duran and Leonard level ATGs when you think about the level of competition in different weight classes for Pac and the less great but still impressive competition that floyd took on without a loss

PBF only cared about the WBC and Ring belts that's it. He won some of those other belts but never paid the sanctioning fees for them.
Let me ask you this when could he have fought Williams? Williams beat Margo got his first belt and then immediately lost in his next fight to Quintana, he rematched him won and moved up to 160. Let me ask you this what other top 147 pound fighters fought Williams? Did Cotto? What about Pac? What about Mosley? But let me guess you don't blame them for not fighting Williams only PBF? Why is that?
Porter is trash and was a nobody back then, stop it.
Margo we have already been down this road Arum didn't want to make the Oscar fight so PBF didn't fight Margo who he would have shut out BTW.
Thurman bigger more lucrative fights out there for him he was the WBC mando but the WBC didn't enforce it not his fault. Blame the WBC
