More of Atlas hypocrisy. He has torn Pacqiao to shred based on RUMORs of PEDs. He has ripped Canelo up and down for PED use. Then he goes on and on about Holyfield who is probably boxing's biggest most blatant drug cheat. Think about Holyfield's career without PEDs. Does he go to heavyweight? Does he have all of those great wars at HW? Or does he stay at cruiserweight? Does he move up as natural and get his ass handed to him? His entire career would likely be a LOT less impressive without steroids. Nevermind the fact that Holyfield was dirty as ****. He bit a kid in the amateurs. Bodyslammed another. As a pro headbutts, elbows, low blows, you name it. Yet Holyfield is a paragon of virtue whose career developed the way it did because his mom was a strict disciplinarian. LOL. Then he segways into a self serving story about how Cus supposedly admitted Teddy was right to "discipline" Tyson... What a ****ing fraud. Yeah Teddy, Im sure everyone thought you were right to stick a gun in the ear of a sixteen year old who grabbed your nieces ass. Just like everyone thought you were right to try to hunt down and shoot Donny LaLonde for firing you...
Wow I just watched that one again, Iron Mike appeared to be a shell in that one! His attempt to break Botha’sarm was bizarre! Thankfully he didn’t, I think it would’ve made Mike’s later success much more difficult. It is strange I did not realize how much of his later career insanity I had forgotten . Never mind that physically he did not look like his former self, his frame of mind who’s was horrible and overall he was a shell of his former self.
I’m watching it, I already know what happens, and I’m still waiting for him to lose it! I’d forgotten the extent of his unpredictability. Towards the end of his career there were some times that he seemed on the verge of a complete meltdown! How about the fact that he tried to break the guys arm and yeah and then trying to pick him up after he knocked him out?!
Teddy was not claiming that Cus was admitted he was right. Instead Cus was explaining why he handled Tyson the way he did, His creation came at a cost. I also don’t recall record Teddy ever definitively detailing what Mike did to his niece motivating him to pull a gun on Tyson. I was under the impression that it was something more serious and it made his neice fearful. Do you have different information?
He literally claimed that Cus said Teddy was right. He even prefaced it by saying it might sound self serving, which of course it was. Why would I care to hear Teddy’s version of events. The guy is a known liar and has never been objective in his life in regards to Tyson. You think hes going to say “I overreacted and it was wrong to threaten a 16 year old with a gun” ? No, hes going to say Tyson raped his ten year old niece (he didnt and she wasnt) and that Tyson 46 at the time and a broken bottle in commission of the crime (he didnt). Because thats what Teddy does. He lies and traffics in rumors, innuendo, and hypocricy. Hes a lazy eyed fraud who less intelligent people like because mistake his frothing at the mouth for passion.
Atlas has always been prickly. He's usually wrong in the present, but with the aid of hindsight, he can make a point or two. In this case, he has an account with some points made.
Tyson had his share of fouls too. Just not in the Holyfield fights. Trying to break Botha arm. Trying to break Mcbride's arm and biting his nipple. Elbowing Biggs and Ruddock repeatedly. Repeated punching Savarese after the Ref had stopped the fight and knocking down the ref in process. Trying to attack Golota after he quit on his stool.
I have a ton of respect for anyone through the ropes. Sitting on the couch and watching the fight and or typing on the keyboard and being in the squared circle are polar opposites. Given all the stresses and being in the moment I error on the side of cutting the combatants slack. It is easy it to say what you would do in the situation but you never know unless you’re actually in there. However, I think Mike Tyson did effectively quit against the Evander Holyfield when he opted to administer his earlobectomy. It is interesting to note that Holyfield was quick to forgive Tyson, probably in no small part that as amateur he also suffered a “biting meltdown”.
